H D Deve Gowda is an enigma wrapped in a towel in a shawl in a panche. On the face of it, the mannina maga is goodness personified, speaking of the interests of the meek of the earth. On the face of it, he is the secular titan. On the face of it, nothing pleases him than to serve the people.
But his open promotion of his family members, his party’s support to the BJP, his behind-the-scenes dealings with the Congress, his touting of businessmen like M.A.M Ramaswamy and Rajeev Chandrashekhar, his cat-and-mouse game with N.R. Narayana Murthy and Ashok Kheny, and now his reported angling for the President’s post cast a major shadow on the man and his methods.
So, what is the one question you are dying to ask Deve Gowda, a question no one else has asked? Please keep your queries short, smart and civil.

The very name Devegowda is a bane to Karnataka. Unless he retires from public life, the State won’t prosper.
10 March 2007 at 7:45 pm
DeveGowdrey
What have you done for Karnataka?
10 March 2007 at 7:49 pm
Are you a thief? If yes, why? — is it your upbringing, or the ambition of your rascal sons, or the nature of Karnataka politics, or something else?
10 March 2007 at 8:36 pm
How long do you think you will continue to fool ‘some people’? The rest of us have caught if you haven’t realized by the way..
10 March 2007 at 9:02 pm
For a man who talks about doing so much for the poor, can you please disclose assets held in the name of all your family members, and when/how you got them?
11 March 2007 at 6:16 am
Have you plans in place to dislodge the Devil?
Why? ‘Coz you’re headed to Hell.
11 March 2007 at 8:09 am
So what new drama have you planned to ensure that the BJP doesnt come to power? A family sitcom or an action thriller?
And are they feeding your grandson at home so he doesnt have to go looking for food at 3 AM?
11 March 2007 at 8:21 am
Is it true that when you were prime minister and attended the G 15 summit, you took along 15 Gowdas?
11 March 2007 at 9:34 am
Gowdru is juicy. One question is unfair. For good or bad Gowdru has the best reach AFA is KA’s impact on national media is concerned. Here are my qs to him.
Gowdre,
You have discussed the crisis in agriculture due to fragmented land ownership at some length. Given that jameendaari has a certain unsavory history in India, what in your opinion is the best method to handle this problem? Why do you think an agricultural equivalent of AMUL has not succeeded? There appear to be some systemic problems- how can they be addressed?
What are the steps JD(S) has taken to address these issues?
What in your estimate is the impact of Reliance, Mittal etc entering the retail market? Do you think these private players can achieve what Govt has not been able to – better acquisition, storage and distribution systems for the agro community?
What are your suggestions to improve to irrigation in KA? What are the technologies that hold promise and what are the administrative reforms that are needed to ensure that agri in KA is sustainable?
What are the steps JD(S) has taken to address this issue?
If agriculture itself is unsustainable and if KA has to resort to massive industrialization, how do you propose to migrate a whole population from agriculture to industry and how do you propose to address the issue of land acquisition?
What are the steps JD(S) has taken to address this issue?
There is a serious and ever widening gap between economic and social development indices in South and North Karnataka. It cannot be the people – ‘coz some of the best entrepreneurs in SoKA are from the NoKA and the CoKa.. What are the basic problems in this issue? How can these be addressed?
What are the steps JD(S) has taken to address this issue?
– If time permits ….
Why did you get miffed with NRN? All he asked for was transparency and administrative reforms. Are these wrong? kaeLod tappa? Do you have fundamental issue with the issues he raised or is it that ‘he’ raised issues that fundamentally is the issue with you? You raised the question on the number of kanadigas that were employed due to Infy. Can you state the number of Kannadigas that were employed due to anything that you as a person, as CM, as PM, or JD(S) as a party did?
Do you believe, that BMIC has certain purpose and impact? If no, then why did you sign it? If you think the project does have impact, but the farmers have been short changed, why do you not direct all of Kheny’s and the rest of BMIC projects’ state taxes directly back to the farmers for say 10 years, during which the state could prolly implement a ‘pension’ plan for these farmers, maybe the state can implement re-education/training facilties for these farmers or their children?
11 March 2007 at 11:45 am
Whew!! I can’t really think of a decent, civil question to him! :(
11 March 2007 at 12:15 pm
Mr Gowda, I hear that despite being a humble farmer, you are very computer-savvy. Just wanted to know whether you open an hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, half-yearly or yearly spreadsheet of how to screw up this state. Or do you just work by the minute?
11 March 2007 at 12:21 pm
When do you think your son Ravana (oops!! sorry, Revanna) will become the next Prime… (oops!! sorry) Chief Minister of Karnataka?
11 March 2007 at 12:27 pm

Mr.Deve Gowda,
It is true that you would have not been born in Karnataka as you are alien to Kannada culture which is commited to honesty & credibility. You would have taken birth in Uganda as Idi Amin’s brother!
25 February 2008 at 4:31 pm

Unnecessary topic on Devegowda. Like all poltcian he also done some good and also some bad things. Why blaming Devegowda alone…
Most useless topic…..
Devegowda is better than ananth kumar, Yeddi etc..
BJP allowed Venkaiah naidu to become MP from karnataka.. Why blaming Devegowda for making Ramaswamy MP?
21 May 2008 at 2:05 pm
Sir, i really appreciate your attitude in life. If in business you would be an equivalent of Steve Jobs or Larry Ellison–both known for arm twisting but yet keeping their shareholders happy.
Well for now we have seen enough ofyour arm twisting, what about keeping the people of state happy?
21 May 2008 at 4:35 pm
Gowdre,
Did Sonia Gandhi ever tried to tie RAKHI to you? whats the script of your next drama?
21 May 2008 at 4:37 pm
Dear Vishwa,

25 May 2008 at 8:32 pm
People need a break from always sleeping or deeply meditating Gowdru who has just one agenda – on how he should prosper by killing other’s lives!
19 February 2009 at 4:25 am
Just because you wrote a blog (or someone else did that for you), does not change what you have done in the past. Your lust for power is insatiable. The youth of India (Karnataka particularly) are intelligent enough to know your intentions and the rest of the population who have been around longer to see you grow into this power hungry politician have learnt it by experience.
Your corrupted and cunning politics should see its end and the country will do well without people like you in power.
My question : What will be the plot of your new story? It seems like you could have been a very successful movie director (although dishonest!).
12 March 2009 at 2:11 pm
ಗೌಡ್ರೆ , ನೀವು ಯಾವಗ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಒಳ್ಳೇಯದು ಮಾಡ್ತೀರಾ ?
PS: Ask him in Kannada, he doesn’t know English or even the English alphabet. I wonder does he know to *read* Kannada at least…
29 September 2009 at 12:02 pm
have you done any one good thing in your life ????
28 December 2009 at 2:00 pm
Mr. Devegowda,
I have only one question to you, in your life time your achievement is winning elections by showing Mr.J H Patels face and becoming CM Or PM and then asking your Kumaranna to go with Yediyurappaji to become CM.
After Yediyurappaji becoming Cm in karnataka, sending ur son Kumaranna to meet Sonia Gandhi before MP elections to come to power and you again double game by getting recognised with the 3rd front and now again sending your son to Sonia Gandhi to disturb Yediyurappaji’ s GOVt in Karnataka.
When will you be able to get full mandate in Karnataka directly by not playing double game ? because u r already in the evening of your life journey plz prove your self before u…..

Sri.Deve gowda is great leader, compare all other politicians he is better, he has done good to the state which people fail to recognize, Media is against him, it has made him villain.
Even though yeddiyurappa has committed many mistakes he has been projected as a great leader, thanks to biased media.
