Why 33% quota for women isn’t a reality. Yet.

“Talli kadupuna enduku puttana ani badha padatadu (You will feel sad you were born to your mother).

Chandrababu, you will regret having come out of your mother’s womb into this world after I complete my speech. At the end of the day, you will be a washout.”

The honourable chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy on his predecessor, N. Chandrababu Naidu.

Whither politicians?

Whither doctors?

Reddy initially had the gall to apologise “if I have hurt anybody’s feelings” but now has tendered an unconditional apology. Nobody is an angel in Andhra politics, of course, but who is at fault here? A verbal hooligan saying hello to the nation’s newest President in a warped way or those trying to extract an apology from him for his insult to motherhood?

And what does Senorita think of her pet?

    > check out that lady in blue thumping gleefully.

When people get into politics, they are so much self centered in their thinking and actions and they lose sense of right or wrong. This is true for both men and women.

  4. Aatmasakshi Says:

    Sack the bastard.

  5. Sathya Says:

What do you mean by CM …. in future it may mean CHEAP MINISTER.For a man kacche, kai, baayi should be under his control. These people never worry about it…the Power makes them utter such words…

  6. tarlesubba Says:

they have some passionate speakers in Telugu politics, perhaps an outcome of the Telangana debate. and I am not talking about Gaddar.

Check out young Harish Rao .

you don’t have to understand what he is talking to see the comfort level with which he wields Telugu. contrast that with his opponent.

anybody in KA politics who speaks with so much passion?

  7. Bhaskar Chattrjee Says:

Y Samuel Reddy will face a situation when outside power, everybody will be horrified at that.

    He is a thug.

The way he set up Muslim reservation, double crossed Naxalites, gave big boost to Missionaries, mauled Press, brought out anti-press freedom act, pursued a respect press house, and a financial house.

Don’t worry. Just watch how he unravels when it starts.

  8. tarlesubba Says:

why sack AS? huTTlilla anasbiDthini is what he said, only more passionately by adding redundant words – after all taayigg huTTde innyaarge huTTthaare jana?

i am not going to establish my feminist creds here, a politicians bombast is the least of our concerns. there are more fundamental battles out there.

  9. Gokulam 3rd Stage Says:

There’s a more fundamental reason why 33% reservation hasn’t happened. That’s because such words are common among people on the street like you and me. One among us gets elected and says the same things. Nothing to beat our chests about.

  10. Thympanna Shettru Says:

Sorry – I don’t understand Telugu. Can someone translate everything told on the screen?

  11. E.R. Ramachandran Says:

History repeats! It was Rajiv Gandhi who insulted the then C.M.-Anjaiah, in Hyderabad Airport. NTR cashed on it and fought for ‘Telugu Pourusham’ (Telugu Pride ) and started Telugu Desham and trounced Indira’s Congress. It’s a matter of time before Chandrababu Naidu returns as C.M. Madam Sonia must have already decided to dump YSR, but it’s 24 hours too late!

  12. tarlesubba Says:

  13. Bhaskar Chattrjee Says:

I don;t understand Telegu, so could not understand much from the video.

Did Samuel reddy read that part (you are be sorry for being born to your mother) from a prepared text?

    hehe…Anything is possible, man.

  14. Thympanna Shettru Says:

    Tarle Subraayre,
Thumbaa Thankssu!! oLLe translation kelsa, Maaaraayre!!

  15. Capt.A.K.Char(Retd) Says:

People get what they deserve! Does it mean those elected Reddy are those type of people to utter all that Galli language.

Since speaker neither stopped the CM from these utterences nor expunged those words,it is time that speaker’s powers and duties shoud be clearely defined/amended.

A similar situation arose in Karnataka assembly when Smt Nagarathnamma was the soeaker. When a member used a Galli language, the speaker ordered that not to be reported, adjourned the house for sometime. After consultation in speaker’s chamber with the leaders and the Bigmouthed, she announced the
topic as closed since the Bigmouthed has expressed his apology.

  16. Mysore Huduga Says:

YSR is a third class piece of turd.

The “honorable” chief minister never had any honor.

Now he shows he has no decency either.

Somebody please email this clip to Sonia Gandhi.

  17. Sathya Says:

What is the use of sending it to Madam? It is not the Madam who should teach these politicians. It is the people of Andhra Pradesh who should show them their places. Look at Karnataka. What these people who lost power and are sitting in opposition doing. One procession one day, another protest another day. What did they do to the people … Even after nearly 60 years of Independence they are not worried about eradicationg illiteracy, removing caste-afflicted politics… Only who know the tradion and culture of the land can do something.
Let us all salaam the great President Sri ABdul Kalam

  18. Kulwant Says:

With due apologies to all, while I understood the last sentence because of the churumuri-given translation, and the first statement I guess he was saying “this is only a preamble”, what exactly was he saying inbetween? That is, upto the “ÿou will regret being born” statement? If anyone here knows Telugu and won’t mind translating it (if it is printable) into English, I’d be grateful.

  19. vsesh Says:

Proceedings in the Andhra assembly led by YSR, the blue eyed boy of Madam Sonia is a fitting tribute to womanhood. It is expected of a political party led by a woman who managed to out wit the opposition to corner glory for showing her concern to woman with her proposal to make a woman the first citizen of the largest democracy in the world. It is a great consolation that such disgraceful incident took place not after swearing in ceremony of the lady president to adorn the highest office of the country. It is for this very reason our politicians have left the woman reservation bill to languish for a long time. All parties with out exception are vocal in upholding the cause of woman but their real intent is quite opposite. Soniaji now the ball is in your court. It is up to you to send right signals to your followers and the nation on this ticklish issue.
