Police in Moradabad have registered a case against Union human resource development minister Arjun Singh, his wife Beena Singh, grandson Abhijeet Singh, and three others on charges of dowry harassment.
A complaint by Madhvendra Singh, the father of Arjun Singh’s grand daughter-in-law Priyanka Singh alleged that the minister’s family had been demanding a Mercedes car and a flat from him and his daughter was being tortured when their demand was not met.

Probably not. Maybe this will get Sonia Madam to ease the dowry laws and make them a bit less draconian.

Che, we should not stoop to this level, an Union Minister demanding a Mercedes car, che che, he should have at least demanded an helicopter. Because the minister was merciful and he may have advised his family about it. Money doesn’t differentiate betweena minister and master and a mason , all are equal before money. It is casteless, colourless, statusless. that’s why Gandhiji is looking from it

How I wish that the public prosecutor is a so called forward caste and pray that Arjun Singh gets an OBC defense lawyer who has got more and more experience only in studying LLM (max. number of “dumki”s).
If there is any Medical Test to be done, I want only an OBC Doctor with max. experience in studying MBBS.

Some one was commenting in another blog posting how uncivilised the Australians are, and how wonderful we Indians are given our ancient tradition. Here is an Indian tradition of demanding hefy dowry in kind from the poor girl’s father! If the man refuses this ransom, his daighter would be condemned to a living hell and possibly the girl would find a solution by herself of the kind one daughter-in-law in our street years ago let the world know by forcing everyone to witness her charred body in the street. Honourable Arjun Singh’s fanily should collectively receive the Arjun Award for their bravery!! This is the level the Indian society has sunk to.

Demanding dowry is a heinous crime and stringent action should be taken against the far ward class people who boast of their culture , education and tradition. In case of ignorant OBC, it is a mere miss- understanding and be over looked forth with.
