U.B. VASUDEV writes: I thought I would forward this photo from Western Australia and the amazing video of the Battle of Kruger (National Park, South Africa) for publication online for the benefit of the Churumuri readers. I guess this is the only reason why one should carry a camera all the time as no one knows when one might encounter a Kodak moment!

digressing,I have a question for the webmaster…Haneef episode saw churumuri post with almost porno interest where each and every excrutiating detail was posted and we saw people like hurry to absolve haneef and demonise the oz. but why on heck is there no discussin on taslma nasreen, when a sittting mla has vowed to behead her.. Isnt taslima musilm as well? are her freedom of rights not being impnged on, nay, murder attemped? where ae all of those intellectuals who breast beat their asses out whenever even a mosquito bites a moslem? Is it secular to condone the taliban in indian muslims?
Its dissappoing to observe churumuri behave the same way as the china post..I can smell the indian left rot here.

Koppal Haida, I was feeling the same thing. But in a male dominated religion a woman writer -Taslima – has no place. The call of the religious heads are more important than freedom of expression. No individual/religion, howsoever it may be great , cannot survivie if cannot tolerate criticism. Freedom of expression doesn’t exisst for them.

The video is not only praise worthy but also prize worthy. It is a treat to watch the video shot with an admirable presence of mind. The beasts in Australia have shown rare sense of unity to protect their kin from the clutches of the pack of lions. Alas! In India our woman folk have to learn a lot from the animals as they have failed to unite and raise their voice against the brutality of fundamentalists on a writer of their own species.
It has happened just after the euphoria of woman empowerment has reached the dizzy heights by the bold decision of the most powerful person in the Indian polity that too a woman whose dictate elevated a woman to the most revered post in our country.
It is an irony that woman is the omnipotent leader of the ruling party at the centre as well as the state where ghastly act of disgracing the woman and gagging the freedom of expression at the Press club of Hyderabad has taken place.
The great lady has turned the Nelson eye so far. It is natural as the accused are her own political allies and belong to minority community with a vast vote bank that can upset the apple cart of any political party. whether it is a crime against woman or human is of no consequence before the political gains. Its evident from the statement Mrs. Ambika Sony , a close confident of Soniaji , president of the congress party that it is law and order problem and Andhra police have taken the cue from the top to book a case against Taslima , the victim of high handed assault of legislators who shamelessly feel proud of their heinous act and wish to pursue the same with much more vigor
The secularist are maintaining a stoic silence of convenience and comrades are very busy in planning strategy to eat the cake and save it too for the future in the context nuclear agreement123. They do not want to rock the government, the goose that lays the golden eggs but have to prove to the world their dissent to the US nuclear

Koppal Avare,
Absolutely right. This only proves time and again the sinister pseudo secularistic thoughts and preachings of the media and people. The media which made a hero out of a zero, in the case of Haneef, had a passing interest in this one. Similarly the many secular buffoons and some fellow bloggers, whose hearts and asses function and spew venom and smoke at the very mention of a Hindu , have turned a blind eye and have glued their mouth. Disgusting !@#$%^&*

What do you mean? Doing what the buffaloes did to the pack of lionesses?

Sometimes it is so frustrating to see their ugly behavior, one would like to have one more Jallianwalla Bhag staged! Can anyone round up a General Dyer?

Vasudev,
Glad you asked. I will tell you something which has left a deep impact on me…
Back in 1974-75, we were in Jayanagar 1st block, Jayanagar.
My uncles used to come from my native, and they were new to the city. When they used to return from a visit, the Auto guy used to make out they are new to the city and charge them double or more. Being of frugal means they used to fight it out, and there used to be a big galata.
This used to repeat in front of all my friends houses every other day, and i used to wonder how to make this Auto fellow retreat….the only way was all the neighbors stand to-gether and fight it out with the Auto fellow.
Similarly, when we go to a Govt. office the clerk there will not even ask you to sit. Can we not set this right ? Why is it that we cannot get a small thing done in our own govt. offices. Simply because we are a most un – united culture. Particularly the Hindu culture.
Fast forward this to my college days in SJCE – we did not have even one good lecturer in Mech. Did we register our opinion as a collective student body ? Is it not our right to have a decent lecturer ?
Further fast forward to today. In Vijayanagar III Stage Mysore, we have no street light monitoring system – daily switch on and switch off system. None of my neighbors even bother to see this.
Why are the authorities not afraid ? Simply because they know nothing will happen.
As common citizens we are not united even in issues which we have a right to ask. We just do not want to ask, politely and then step up our ask.
We want to get things by crook.
Take the 123 deal. We do not want to have a open discussion and know on what grounds we are weak – vis a vis the deal. The politicians are playing a dirty shadow boxing game. Why ? They know the common public wants this. A public show of – litigation and cribbing and fighting showing off that they have done something great !.
Are we Indians led to this situation of small mindedness, by the rule of British who abused us – using intrigue and arms power, and then by our politicians in a hurry, who abused freedom from British, and suppressed freedom for the common man ?
Let me close by recalling an interview, in which our Honorable Minister Mani Shankar was saying – the building in which he stays in Lutyens cannot be purchased by even Rahul Bajaj ‘s assets ?
Why cannot we oppose this utter non sense just because he is a minister. Should he not be pointed out that he is talking thro his hat ?
Why are we silent ?? Why cannot we turn back ??? Whom are we afraid off ?? Do we feel we will be left alone if we fight ??
