  1. Doode Says:

    With Due Respects,
Wake up Swamiji. Lets all pray together.

  2. Thyampanna Shettru Says:

All the controversies aside, this stunning photo captures a moment in time of Pejawara Swamiji who exemplifies the true meaning of simple life.

  3. Vitlan Potli Says:

..and this satyagraha is for what? freedom from oppression? Great indeed. Keep up the good work swamiji!!!!!

  4. Anu Says:

Could you please post the ‘ sheep throwing sacrifies ‘ in Bijapur or Gulbarga ( im not sure which District) on Sankranti . I saw it on ETV news . I mean the crow litterally threw sheep on the procession of Devi .

    Thanks

  5. Nitin Says:

Is this some kind of “cause” to go into hunger strike? How come nobody in the esteemed Mutts never laid out any strictures against squabbling and settling scores in public for the swamis.Has anybody thought practically would Lord Krishna would have wanted his devotee to be like ?

  6. Bala Krishna Says:

    Shree Hari vAyu GurubhyO Namaha
It’ pains in my heart to see Shri Shri Swamigalu having become physically so weak in the paryaya issue. Our Shri Swamigalu has the wonderful will power is blessed with the kavacha of Shri Hari and vAyu devara anugraha. The truth ‘Dharmakke Jaya’ will prevail and we pray Shri Hari, vAyu Gurugalu for a speedy solution for this issue.

    Shri Gurugala sevaka,
    Bala Krishna

  7. Pulikeshi the Last Says:

All techniques created and perfected by Gandhi have become instruments of blackmail and intimidation.

The frail swami’s hunger strike is no logical response to Puththige Shri’s defence of foreign travel. The Dharmashastra that His Holiness Vishvesha Theertha espouses is ancient and its applicability to our times questionable.

I see no exemplification of “the true meaning of simple life” in this case. What I do see is an example of religious/emotional terrorism.

  8. Haridasa Says:

    Dear Shri Swamiji,

We pray Shri Hari Vayu Gurugalu to provide all the strength for the great soul like you. It’s very hurting to see you with no Prasada.

I really pity those people who don’t understand the soul like Shri Swamiji and make useless comments. Please see what harm this is causing to anyone apart from Swamiji himself. I am sure Shri Swamiji will come out of this sucessfully with not hurting any one and Shri Krishna will bless him in this regard.

    Jai Shri Krishna Hare Srinivasa

  9. E Raviraja Gowda T V Says:

Did not expect this step from a swamiji, who created a furore amongst the traditionalists, when he visited a colony of then “untouchables”…
same tradionalists did not object to he ascending for paryaya…
    he should remeber that!

  10. Pulikeshi the Last Says:

Hari is torn, Vaayu is polluted, the Gurus are in a state of “thamas.”

When my eighty-year old mother visits the Krishna temple, she hardly thinks of the reigning yathi. It is the purple-skinned, butter stealer that counts.

Let all swamis retire and the pooja be conducted by someone decent no mater what his caste is. End of paryaaya farce.

  11. Kumari Says:

It is completely disgusting to note the various statements and counter statements and not publicity oriented stunts, especially from the clowns who are supposed to be custodians of the Krishna temple. The retarded controversy is now in all the newspapers abroad including the media here in the Gulf who take pride ridiculing Hindus, thanks to this stupid black mark on our society. Let us hope such snaps too are not shown abroad.

Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji (and his so called team of religious scholars) have been in the forefront of the swami-led gang opposing the increasingly popular and forward looking Sugunendra Theertha Swamiji. More than the Pooja, it is well know that 100’s of crore’s of devotee’s offerings, temple revenues and related power is at stake. The old politician from Pejawar must immediately shut-up not fast or similar activities, perhaps change his name from Vishwesha to Kantri Naradha, let public opinion and justice in the 21st century prevail.
The Krishna Pooja or Paryaya will be naturally done by the determined and courageous Sugunendra Theertha Swamiji but the actions of the Pejawar seer and some of the biased Ashta Matadhipathis must be investigated by an independent agency and they must be ruthlessly brought to book and punished for having created such a bad image for Hinduism and South Kanara.
Talking about fasting, the mahatma never fasted for a cause that took society back to the old ages!

  12. T.Shetty Says:

Honestly, I wouldn’t be too worried about ‘gulf’ media!! smiles…

As to the controversy – we can question the rules (written and verbal). But I wouldn’t recommend breaking it before questiong it. If Sugunendra theertha swamiji was so ‘forward looking’, he could have initiated a debate on this before going abroad, right?

If we let this trend continue – Where is the end?

We can criticize everything that is traditional – from their costume to their life style to their caste. All are fair. Let’s debate first and come to a conclusion before radically changing everything that is practiced so far.

Who even needs a Krishna temple when he is a ‘sarvantharyaami’, right? All questions are fair.

    Well…

  13. Arun Says:

Bringing the issue to the streets is one thing that should have been avoided at all costs. It has let many loose tongued to come to the fore as we are seeing in this post as well. Let us not forget that these are strict guidelines laid several hundreds of years back and everyone accepting sanyaasa is in the know of DOs and DONTs. A similar instance in the past led to a disciple perform the pooja to Lord Krishna. When Sri Sugunendratheertha swamiji is aware of this precedent why wasn’t a debate initiated long ago? Going to the press as an adamant disciple solves no problems. As T Shetru says, each one can feel what is ‘forward looking’ and start perceiving things in his own way. There is something called tradition which believers respect. A debate amongst scholars and not propaganda through insensitive media is what is needed. And for the lesser mortals, there will be crores of them, let them vent their ire, call names at pontiffs…who cares a f…
