One question I’m dying to ask… Lalu Prasad

They said the Railways would go bankrupt in 2015; he is now announcing a profit of Rs 25,000 crore by leaving passenger fares untouched year after year. They said he was a joker in the pack, a jester, but he ended up lecturing Harvard, Wharton and IIM.

He claims to have made a man from Karnataka (H.D. Deve Gowda) prime minister, yet he stands accused of terming a section of Kannadigas “dirty people”. There are those who say he has turned the railways around, and there are those who allege he has turned it into a personal fiefdom if not himself of his statesmen.

What is the one question you would like to Railway Minister Lalu Prasad at a time when Bihari has become a bad word in the political lexicon? Keep your queries short and civil.

  1. Aatmasakshi Says:

Are you amenable to introducing only one-way trains to Bihar and UP?

  2. AnonyMys Says:

If you could administer railways so well for so long, then how is that you stint as the CM of Bihar is a story of catastrophe and corruption?

  3. Mohan Says:

It is unfair on Churumuri’s part to repeat the accusation when Lalu has already clarified in parliament that he didn’t call the kannadigas “dirty people”. When a journalist asked him about reservation for kannadigas in railway jobs he said, “aise gande baat kyo uthate ho (why do you bring up such dirty topics)”.

  4. NS Rao Says:

aap ne kyon ek gadhaa ko pradhaan mantri banaaya?

  5. Sathya Says:

Kannadigas should be grateful Lalu Prasad for making a Kannadiga to be the PrimeMinister of this great country. But , that man says it was a sin that he was born in Karnataka and as a Kannadiga. yaaru Railu biDuttiddaare?

  6. Narayana Says:

I thank him for turning around Railways and exhort him to go fully global by introducing trains from Purnia to Paris, Nawada to New York, Luckeesarai to London.

  7. anirudhbhati Says:

If I had no other choice, I’d have the Anil Ambanis and the Ratan Tatas rule the countries as plutocrats in a rogue-baron economy than these pseudo-nationalist and lethargic politicians.

  8. Hosa-Belaku Says:

After all that talk of introducing aluminium wagons and despite all the research and designing that is on, why did you take a sweeping decision that “all wagons” henceforth would be made of stainless steel –steel prices are forever soaring. Also, your decision to rope in foreign firms for wagon design — it really looks like the RSDO has lost favour.

  9. Abhi Says:

Does turning loss making Railways into profit absolve his sins of his multicrore scams? What about thousands of crores that he looted from poor people? History will not be kind to him. He will be remembered as one of the most corrupt politicians of our time. Railways was at its worst efficiency and it couldn’t have become worse even if he wanted. The real way to transform it would be to privatise it. Then only can the profits increase and services get better.

  10. Janasamanya Says:

Laluji says that he will make any ministry a profitable one. Why not give Agriculture Ministry to him. If he makes it profitable, he is fit to become P.M.

  11. Vijay R Says:

I appreciate Laloo for turning railways around into a profit organization. I would like to know from him at what cost ? At the cost of quality of Service offered ? As a common man i dont expect railways to make profit and it is not meant to do that. All i need is a quality of service offered for the price i pay. I travelled in 2nd AC 6 months ago, i could see cockroaches playing around and the toilets at its worst state. My nephew and neice who are 6-7 yrs old were food poisoned due to the meals we took in the train. The TTE was drunk and he could not understand the sensitivity of this issue and busy taking bribe. Will Laloo peek into these major issues that is hauling railways instead of showing the big profit that he has created.

People of Karnataka are been fooled in the Rly budget. Of course, it is a perennial event. As our own men in the saddle as Railway Minister we got nothing. If all these persons contributed to their State we by this time would have seen double laniing of Bangalore- Mysore track. Also, the Bangalore citi’s transport problem would have halved by introducing a Circular Railway around the city where more than two third is covered with Railway track. Whywe shoul blame one Lalu. What is our great Parliamentarians are doing there? One man vas busy in party work, another busy in voting in local panchayat. Those who were in Delhi did not know when they submit their proposal and how to press the demands. If they submit their prooposal on the previous day of budget they are a mockery to the people who elected them.
