If the grisly sight of bombs tearing off lives and limbs in Ahmedabad and Bangalore doesn’t get your stomach churning, the conspiracy theorising by our political parties should. Sushma Swaraj, a member of the second rung of leadership of the BJP who once threatened to shave her head if Sonia Gandhi became prime minister, has alleged the blasts in the capitals of two BJP-ruled States were “a conspiracy to divert attention from the cash-for-votes scandal”. In other words, the Congress-led UPA engineered the attacks.
What is the one question you are dying to ask the Bellary ki bahu?

She should visit Bangalore for a medical check up. There is a good hospital on Hosur Road called NIMHANs

It is a sign of desperation, to fling slimy mud against your political opponent. This is incredulous…screaming, ranting, getting hysterical..is this a sign of maturity?
Often we chide children for such behaviour……..

This is what was suspected for long time, it is only internal work. Blast occur in Muslim areas onlee, instant blaming of unpronounceable organization name. Rounding off Muslims onlee, then nothing!!!!!
Bombay Blast you get people who did it.
Coimbatore you get the people who did it as these blast had a motive.
But the recent trend has no rhyme or reason for malegon or Hyderabad and these mindless acts.

Why is it not a way of diverting attention from the Cash for Resignation scandal in Bangalore?
Or may be to divert attention away from your mining friends from Bellary spoiling the Shiradi Ghat roads in just 30 days of it being repaired?

The new BJP leadership is reflecting the LK Advani style of narrow blinkered political view of everything, instead of expansive, statesman like view of AB Vajapayee.
Sad to see what politics of BJP has come down to… Show money in Parliament and off it accuse people of killing people to divert attention from BJP’s bumbling ways?

This is no match for insanely statements that Veerappa Moily (official spokesperson), Margaret Alva etc make – ok, media is selectively deaf.
…has alleged the blasts in the capitals of two BJP-ruled States were “a conspiracy to divert attention from the cash-for-votes scandal”. In other words, the Congress-led UPA engineered the attacks.
Why Govt. ? That is media interpretation. Why cant the UPA sympathisers be doing all these – to divert attention ? Did any one read today’s news paper – Christa Sangha felicitated HTSangliana for voting in favour of UPA (defying party whip – for which he will be leagally punished), what has christa sangha to do with UPA voting ? So sympathisers can go to any extent – not necessarily with permission from govt. or party. This angle can always be investigated.

ok, if u had POTA – u could have brought Sushama to court for hiding this vital info. Alas, there is no POTA. And our leader of opposition Kharge wastes tax payer’s hard earned money and wastes time by mentioning the name of sushama, who is not a member of the house. Somebody should educate the congress leaders – who make claims of forming constitution and all laws.

she might have said the most obnoxious thing & when I saw & heard her saying these stuff one thing which came to my mind was why sushma swaraj is talking like this ?? why why…
may be the hidden intention is to keep the attention of the nation on “CASH FOR VOTE SCAM”….
she might have thought UPA might use this to put a shadow on the scam….
…..
she might have done the most foolish thing..but who knows…it may have served the purpose…

WHOA…waitup folks…! Where did she say Congress is behind the blasts.
She only said it is a conspiracy to distract attention from cash for vote scam. She didnt say by whom? Now take her to court..if you could please!
One can see historical trends in reactions and counter reactions like these.
When RSS was accused of killing MK Gandhi…RSS took it lying down for 4 decades despite proven innocent by commission after commission ( set up by Pandit JaFartlal Nero and other Con-gressmen.) Over the last decade they started dragging down everyones ass to the court and started filing defamation suit against anyone (well not anyone..not small insects like Shabnam Hashmi or Javed Akthars..or Testa Shitalvad..but against big gun politicians ) who made that allegation. Then suddenly the allegations changed from RSS killed Gandhi to…”this idealogy killed Gandhi”. See the difference? You cant really take one to court on the second statement…because an idealogy could be shared by 100′s of organizations or indivudials. Shushma would be eagerly waiting for the Congress to fall into this trap and take her to court….and if they fall into this trap it will only make her popular…cause she will ask one simple question to the judge…”If so…why havent they hanged Afzal Guru yet?”

I am not sure how many people took the cash-for-votes scandal seriously at all. It is foolish to claim that the Administration or its sympathisers would take such a course of action as is suggested by Ms Swaraj. This is simply a case of foot-in-mouth syndrome and these claims are being disowned by her own party.
Sure this disease is not limited to Ms Swaraj or her party and all parties have such inanae characters who surprisingly are the spokespersons of their parties!

Agree with Gaby. I cannot help noticing that OddVani must have been guiding Sushma’s thinking and her subsequent statements. So IMHO he falls even lower.
First the nuanced (aka retarded) opposition to Nuclear Deal; now the retarded spokesperson’s moronic comment. Will any body be surprised if BJP is decimated in the next election?

Just shows the general entity the BJP is! A bunch of over-ambitious, hypocratic, irresponsible people with a one track mind: grab power though any means. Goes by the teaching: The end justifies the means! Proved once again that they are Bad losers!

The Indian Express editorial says: “It is clear, however, that we are expected to believe that the fact that the capitals of two of the 10 NDA-ruled states were attacked is no coincidence, and that mainstream politics is somehow responsible. ”
Obviously, the editorial writer thinks that Ahmedabad is the capital of Gujarat. He or she should have known that Gandhinagar is the capital of Gujarat. Usually edit pages are handled by senior assistant editors who are well-versed in English and general knowledge. Nowadays, any thing goes on edit pages.
The deputy editor of a financial daily in a book review made a passing reference about the “Indo-China” war of 1962. The “senior” journalist doesn’t know what Indo-China stands for.
It is shocking that the book reviewer happens to be a deputy editor. Three decades ago, a trainee on the staff of a newspaper got a note from the news editor for committing this mistake. The news editor’s contention was that a even a tyro shouldn’t make such a mistake.

Manmohan Singh has his own bizarre conpsiracy theories. During his 1999 LS campaign, he claimed that the RSS planned the killing of Sikhs during 1984 Congress-inspired anti-Sikh progroms.
That was one too much for even the Sikh voters of South Delhi constituency. The turned out in large numbers to vote for his BJP rival. Needless to add, back then Singh wasn’t King, so lost the election. The editorialists at Indian Express sulked for a long time, claiming that the voters didn’t deserve Singh. :-)

Without doubt Sushma Swaraj has gone overboard if she claimed that the Congress party planned the blasts. But let us look at the party’s marriages of convenience with extremists. It has a tacit understanding with Maoists during the run-up to 2004. Naxals targetted and killed TDP workers, but Congress was spared. The party is widely suspected to have links with ULFA in Assam. Indira Gandhi created Bhindranwale, and took him out only when he became trouble for herself.
Why do you think the entire Congress media from Telegraph to ToI to Indian Express is out baying blood for Sushma’s blood? There’s panic. Because they know that her claims create suspicion about Congress in people’s minds. And they also know that the environment for suspicion to take root was prepared by the Congress’s own track record.
