A video for the viewing pleasure of V.S. Acharya

YASHOVARDHANA KOTE, in Chicago, forwards a YouTube video of a police constable assigned with crowd control arguing with and abusing an officer on the sidelines of the Aero India show in Bangalore this February.

“As with all other institutions in India, I knew our police system had its problems too. But I never though insubordination would be one!”

As a medical doctor accustomed to details, the Karnataka home minister Dr V.S. Acharya will no doubt notice that besides wagging the finger at his senior, the constable also has his hands in his pockets.

Churumuri..How abt blaming Mr.Obama for 2 cops down south in Texas arguing ? Got the point?

Pulling the BJP govt into such things trivial has become a media habit.

  2. Janasamanya Says:

This is one side. What about the other side of the story?!

  3. Not A Witty Nick Says:

Crowd management has not been our forte for a long time now.

Ever set foot on Sayyaji Rao Road on a Vijaya Dashami recently?

  4. Mysore Peshva Says:

indiscipline in the police is a sure way to catalyze a civil war. that’s a lesson of history from around the world.

but hey, it happens when inadequately trained hot young blood is faced with an incompetent (maybe corrupt) boss who doesn’t evoke respect.

the constable should be summarily suspended — pending an inquiry which would unravel the doodh ka doodh paani ka paani.

  5. law Says:

Forget finger wagging and hands in pockets at one point he is even about to hit the senior with a lathi taken from the other constable.

    Mysore Peshava,
avella eenu naDiyalla… may be the constable is a dalit and the inspector is a non dalit. If the inspector goes offensive on the constable it will become a
case of harassment of dalit and the inspector will be removed.

  7. Kaavalugaara Says:

What is all the ruckus about?
The subordinate police officer even grabs a stick to beat his superior with.
My guess is that the angry young man joined the force through the SC/ST quota.

Surprised by caption “A video for the viewing pleasure of V.S. Acharya”…what a joke!

Minister himself will not interview each and every candidate to Police department! Remove reservation system and respect merit, then there will be changes everywhere in all places..the shining India I can dream of.

One has not forgotten the recent where a police officer Thammayya was hacked to death by the conspiracy by a convict-constable hatching siting inside the Mandya jail. The message is very clear. The sincere one slog all the 24 hours but the lazy one who doesn’t want to work get irritated when asked to work. In another incident in Mysore a constable shot his inspector and shot itself with service rifle. Some psychological counselling is necessary.

un-reasonable, in-sensible and random post – reading some inane post of an amateur blogger will be more sensible than reading such posts. if i write more i will be wasting my time.

    muskinjOLa & Kaavalugaara,

    I admire your courage.

  12. Chandan Says:

If Western cops contradict each other it is called “Good cop bad cop strategy”, but if our desi cops do it a minister is blamed for it? En saar idu?
