The BJP’s candidate from the Shimoga Lok Sabha constituency B.Y. Raghavendra provides visual evidence that he cast his ballot the right way on Thursday, while his father, the chief minister, B.S. Yediyurappa, holds up his right finger to show that he probably did not.
Is the CM’s left index finger, which is where the mark is supposed to be applied, injured? Or was there already a mark on it necessitating the right finger? Did the CM insist on the mark being applied on his right hand? Did the voting official not know? Or is it the new status symbol in town, getting the voter mark on a finger of your choice?
Does the CM’s vote count? Or does it not matter if it is a VIP?

Whatever at least he has voted, that’s important!
Not like Manmohan Singh in the earlier two elections.

Hmm… Appa – Maga are showing us all a finger. There must be a message in there – not getting it.
30 April 2009 at 11:49 pm
Hmm.. I think i get it.. If you or I did that it’d be considered obscene gesture and we’d probably be trashed and perhaps it is BSY’s way of saying what he thinks of all of us??

He can vote again, showing his left hand at Hosur on 13th.

Good Photo but… Someone has messed it up!
It was an error to mark on the right index finger. and a colossal blunder to show it off!

The entire Bacchan family was doing the middle finger salute!!

Folks -
Be happy that you’ve see the CM and his son showing Index finger and not the middle one. I think, that gesture will be for the son and grandsons of soil – post Election 2009.

Right hand and Right wing politics saar! Left is not Right for him.
1 May 2009 at 6:35 pm
His family members have confirmed that he deliberately did that. He gave his right fingure on the advice of his family astrologer!
He did a pooje of EVM before casting his vote, last time. He had removed his chappali and turned to East to pray! He had also placed the Prasada of Sri Huchchooraya Swamy of Shikaripura on the EVM. The EC has banned pooje at polling booths in this election.

Whatever it is they have voted. Mistakes will happen. If he hadn’t cast the vote it should be made into issue.
1 May 2009 at 7:47 pm
Two points:
1) They voted. Done! This is the first requirement.
2) They didnt apply it on their middle finger and show it to us unlike Bachhan family.

Whatevery may be the reason, the officials at the polling booth should be admonished. they are given training and after all thisis not a very rule to be remembered by the concerned official. If the official cannot differentiate between the right and left there must be somethig wrong in his perception.
5 May 2009 at 4:43 pm
Even when I voted this time, I gave my right hand instead of left hand by mistake. But the official asked for my left hand.
Probably the official was too scared to ask for the “right” hand.
This is a non issue for God’s sake.
But, the money spent on temple visits and money given to mutts and haj visits, and the mining ministers’ arrogance is.

What is happing in Karnataka,Land of S. Nijalingappa,R.K. Hegade. Who had guts to Control their ministers. Mr. Yedurappa is humiliating not only himself and also voters of Karnataka.either he must through out Reddy brothers or he must quit. The state is recovering from worst natural calamity, People are doing their best to help effected people ,our MLA s are enjoying in Hydrabad, Goa they are staying in 5 star hotels eating food which costs Rs.800 per Person lodging in suits whereas their constituency people are strugling to spend a day their lives are ruined. This could happen in India only where petty politics is prefered ovder welfare of people.if this happened in any other nation people would have
agitated against these irresponsible Politicians.
