‘Plight of Muslims is a slap on Congress claims’

By churumuri

Kuldip Nayar in Deccan Herald:

“The Congress party’s claim to be secular does not wash because it has not implemented even one recommendation of the government-appointed Rajinder Sachar committee report which pointed out last year that the plight of Muslims was worse than that of Dalits.

“Indeed, the party brings secularism to the fore only during the polls and forgets it after coming to power. Backwardness of Muslims is a sad commentary on the Congress which has been in power at the Centre and in most states for more than 50 years since independence.”

  1. Kingkhan Says:

    Churumuri,

Thanx for bringing out this issue. Suprisingly nobody is interested to comment on it. Is it indifference, or is it bcoz it is the truth.

We are cornering this 25% minority community, beware this can reverse back. India, as a nation should be responsible for the welfare of its citizens. Time for the people at the helm to do some constructive work.

  2. Palahalli Says:

    25%?

  3. Doddi Buddi Says:

    KingKhan,

Swalpa ‘family pilaan’ ge madbidi. Sab theek hojatha hai! Then Sachaar report-ge achaar-ge madtheevi—real Congress walah

  4. verybleedingheart Says:

Why did the Sachar committee forget the “underprivileged” among the other communities or is it that only the Muslims are privileged enough to be underprivileged? What has secularism got to do with economic hardship and poverty? J Nehru and his daughter Indira G almost commanded absolute power for decades, enforced a socialist economy and dumped several 5-year plans on the country. It is pathetic that the Congress party (and its drumbeaters) continue to practise the imperial policy of divide and (mis)rule.

  5. tarlesubba Says:

this is just nonsense. whatever any sarkaar has not done for muslims, it has also not done for other p-number of other communities.

in modern india, no individual gets rewarded for being inward looking and fixated with their identity. only those people who can look beyond and outward and acquire skills that serve the common interest have oppurtunities. this is only fair.

a lot of underpreviliged in the country have used the government school system to make something of themselves. learning shastras or the hadiths, sanskrit or arabic is good for only personal spiritual enrichment. it does not help you, in any direct way, to be part of the greater society. let me be direct. 3rd class sslc is much more useful/rewarding than first class madrassa. and that is only fair. that is the only thing that is fair.

poverty & disenfrenchisement is not just a muslim condition. it spans all communities across india. retrograde, romantic communalism however is not. no sir, no. no individual can succeed by being an exemplar of his average class. there is a market for priests today, but no market for those hankering for priestly previliges. this the hindu priests realized a long long time ago and have benefitted from it. and that is the takleef of people like khan here – the other the then previliged class. very few of people of his type have realized that. they want to be uber islamists and still succeed. sorry to break it to you, sir, not the time or the day. no market to subscribe to your romanticism. our own romanticism we dont want to pay for, why should we do pay for yours. you want oppurtunities? join the public schools. i repeat, 3rd class sslc is much more useful/rewarding than first class madrassa.

  6. Doddi Buddi Says:

    TS,

But a first class honors at a local madrasa will get the candidate a job in the railways according to Laloo!

  7. tarlesubba Says:

irfan habib in today’s deccan herald
    http://www.deccanherald.com/content/1496/muslims-entitled-full-fledged-schools.html

But look at the government also, where is the requisite affirmative action? What is the percentage of Muslim employees even in the Public Sector Units? government is indifferent to the plight of the Muslims. Even this so-called policy of strengthening the Madarsa system of education is a way of cheating the Muslims.

    Why do you think so?

Muslims are entitled to full-fledged schools, not Madarsas. The government engages two teachers with minimum pay for Madarsas and claims that it has taken care of minority children. But the government is doing it with a purpose, as engaging Urdu teachers in full-fledged schools or setting up more schools in Muslim-dominated areas will be far more expensive than just doling out a few thousand rupees for the Madarsas.

The government should not spend a single penny for the madarsas and let them be as they are. Instead there should be more schools where a Muslim boy can sit with his Hindu classmate and learn what every other child of his age is learning elsewhere. Only then this exclusion, this ghettoisation of the Muslims will come to an end.

  8. Palahalli Says:

Let Irfan Habib organize a referendum amongst his Muslims and decide that they want to be rid of Madarsas. On receipt of results, the government may decide to actually rid them of their Madarsas or keep them for all Muslim children. Until then, let this intellectual shove his ideas.

  9. kharaharapriya Says:

    TS,
You are wrong Madarasa degree is equivalent to C.B.S.E degree.
They are surely more qualified than as 3rd class SSLC from state board according to HRD minister Arjun Singh. :)

  10. Kingkhan Says:

    Mr.Doddi

-”Swalpa ‘family pilaan’ ge madbidi. Sab theek hojatha hai! Then Sachaar report-ge achaar-ge madtheevi—real Congress walah”

Unable to decipher your incoherent blabberings. Come again clearly.

  11. khan Says:

Kuldip Nayyer or any of his ilk don’t have to shed crocodile tears, all are one and the same.

Let the prejeduce of the Indian State fall down like berlin wall, Indian Muslims will and can move the Economic ladder on their own.

As long as state sponsered prejeduc is there, Muslims can’t be hired in IB, RAW, in sensitive positions, which in turn sweeps to all sphere of the state machinery, the condition will remain the same.

  12. Kingkhan Says:

    tarlesubba

You have hit the nail on the head. Muslims should send their wards to Govt schools, learn the language of the region, and try to basically merge with the main stream.

I appreciate the thought you have put in.

  13. Palahalli Says:

Kingkhan & Khan – What are the chances of Muslim families withdrawing their wards from Madrasas and admitting them to normal schools?

Muslims say the Indian State is prejudiced against them. This is just another way of saying Hindus are prejudiced against Muslims. Now please tell me if Muslims will be happy if the State closes all Madrasas and moves the students to Govt schools?

You know the answer as well as I, a Hindu, do.

Why are Muslims hell bent upon finding scapegoats for their plight when they themselves are responsible for their misery? Simply throwing statistics at us and telling us Muslims are worse off than Dalits is not making any sense. This only proves that Dalits have shown much greater initiative to improve their lot than Muslims. Also note that Dalits have had little to go by. Whereas Muslims claim allegiance to the most perfect religion and recipe for success in this world and that!

  14. khan Says:

What are the Chance of Brahmins leaving RSS.

What are the chances of RSS stop inoculating hate in their shakas?

What are the Chances the Establishment trusting Muslims in Sensitive post?

What are the Chances a meritorious Muslim getting even a post of peon in Rashtrapati Bhavan?

What are the Chances of Plahalli asking “Who do you support Ind or Pak in cricket match?

What are the Chances if a blast occer, it is immediately awarded to unpronounceable urdu/arabic name?

You know the answer, as well as I.

So lets just say all your assumptions are RSS driven. Not all Muslims are in Madrasa. 90% of Muslims do get their basic education in schools. Only the realization that even if they do good, prejudice of establishment will never allow them level field, drive them to alternate skill field.

Just have a look at news reporters, bankers or babus… you will see the pattern, why it is impossible to prosper in those fields. Not just Muslims but rest of the 85% Indians, whon India calls “OTHER”.

  15. narasimha Says:

People who whine that muslims should get preferential treatment at the expense of other citizens and somehow they are priviliged to be pampered, should look at other minorities in this country viz., Jews and Parsees and learn a lesson or two from these communities who have lesser percentage in the population. While one famous Parsee industrialist recently demonstrated to the world that he can produce the worlds cheapest car, the members of the whining muslim citizenry are busy perfecting car bombs and belt bombs.

Nobody asked the muslims to stay back after partition and do us a favour by their presence, if they so wish, even now it is not too late, they can either migrate to Puristan or Beggardesh and be happy. As always, I am in the forefront to help this effort by chipping in to buy a one way ticket on samjhauta express for these disgruntled muslims.

  16. Palahalli Says:

Khan – Guess who is making assumptions now? Who told you only Brahmins attend Shakhas? Have you ever been to one? The stupid RSS even has a Rashtriya Muslim Manch to nurture the likes of you.

Stick to the point and tell me if Muslims will support the “establishement” if they close madrasas. Going by you, if only 10% of Muslim children attend, it should not be a problem na?

While you are at it, define establishment for me, since you seem to be shying away from simply saying “Hindus”. Or do you think your ad hominem “Brahmins only” tactic will keep working all the time?

  17. verybleedingheart Says:

We had “Muslims” in the following public areas: Chief Justice of India and High court judges, Chief of Air Force, several top officers in the Army in the rank of Major Gen/Lt. Gen, Defence Research Scientist/Advisor (who made it to the President of India), Union and state Ministers, UGC chief, vice-Chancellors, popular cinema stars, cricket and hockey players, classical and film musicians etc. etc.

On the contrary, those who profess secularism 24/7/365 never allowed Muslims to rise and hold the top post in their organisations (eg. Congress party, DMK, and CPI/CPM never had any “Muslim” as the head). We don’t know whether any Muslim got even a post of peon in Rashtrapati Bhavan. But, we certainly do know at least three Muslims (two of whom were certainly meritorious) who occupied the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Playing victimhood all the time is not quite helpful and doesn’t lead anywhere.

  18. tarlesubba Says:

sure khan. we have done many things wrong. but why do you you assume we are super humans? that we will absorb all sorts of nonsense. when will you purge nonsense like kuffar, kaffir, dar-ul haram etc? when will you show magnanimity in accepting not getting offended by when we sing vande mataram. when will you stop nonsense like ranting on idol worship as if it were an axiomatic scientific principle. it is not. ranting against idols , the lone god and the last revelation is more superstitious than actually believing in idols.

tell when can the ahmediyas be? when can tasleema nazreen be?

fact is, human kind has evolved much beyond what your and my idols ever predicted. a good chunk of people on have learnt this and moved on and have made something of their lives. abul kalam led the most secretive plans independent india ever had. quereshi is perhaps the most important person in indian elections today. but these people are not your ideals area they? even at 10%, 10 million idiots are still hankering on some romantic notion of entitlement. bullshit. get this, brits didnt take over from mughals. they took over from sikhs, marathas and people like chennamma and tippu. by the time the brits came, the mughals were gone.

mughals lost all their appeal when aurangajeb the zealot murdered darah sikoh the syncretist. when maududi and deoband usurped the narrative to destroy centuries of evolution carefully seeded by people like kabir and shareefa.

now today you prance around in all sorts of self indignation. wah bhai wah!! who cut our country?

  19. tarlesubba Says:

allama iqbal, when he was rooted to reality wrote in a moment of genuine inspiration, ‘kuch to hein hamari hasti mein …’ think what made him write that.

p number of indians of all types have made something of themselves. only those who still cling on to medieval notions of entitlement are left behind.

  20. tarlesubba Says:

khan, you think only you grow up without role models? we do too. growing up my role model was a prof and his wife. my ancestors would not have spoken to them. my mother would not speak to me if i bunked sunday afternoon sessions at their house. i will not mention religion. but i will tell you there were days i was a shaka member and would still peddle across the town to learn from this wise people. nobody in the shaka ever thought me things that you accuse it of. i eventually left the shaka but that was for a different reason. i found other people and ideas.

these ideas, to be brutally honest and to your face, islam cannot even dream of coming up. not even rumi.

  21. khan Says:

    @Palahali

Brahmins attend shakas? Yes, they are life and soul of that organisation. Had anyone other than Brahmin held of sanglarchak?

Yes I attended RSS, so I know what goes on.

Why should Madrassa be closed? It is also imparting education, , isn’t it. Anything that needs to be closed is RSS, which imparts “organised” violence in their shakas.

“Hindus”??? There is no such thing as Hindus. The RSS just take the cover of the term “Hindus” for all its nefarious actions.

Anyway you should be aware of the dfination of Hindus? Citizen of India who is not a Muslim and Christian is considered “Hindu”!!!! Refer the legal books.

  22. khan Says:

    Tarlesubba,

Lets be serious without being tarle, that am not a heir of Mughal to answaer your anguish of Aurengzeb or care who stole mughal throne ,marathas or english.

Coming to your peeve that Muslim feel entitled, yes we do are entitled to Equal opportunity and resent the exclusion equally through reservation, license/permit raj or pure prejudice of the state.

It is very this questioning of Muslims that they are painted as villain, unlike “other” 65% Indians, by the establishment.

In perverted democracy, where caste combination of arithmetic and winner takes all, what else can you expect.

In all your bablle about Mughal, did it occur to you Mughal lost not for wanting military strength, but coz they lost the Moral authority. Do you see parallel???

I still have hope, after seeing this observation from Dr Shivkurswamy,

Siddaganga Mutt seer centenarian Dr Shivakumarswamy regretted that the country’s democracy these days is standing on caste and money power and being bought and sold with ill-gotten wealth.

He might have disturbed by the polirisation in karnataka where Lingayat’s BJP, Vokkaliga’s JDS and Other’s Congress and the dance of Reddy’s wealth.

Hope some sense prevails on the powers that be and stops the discrimination of state based on caste and religion, to the betterment of all citizens.

  23. khan Says:

    my dear verybleedingheart,

Yes Muslims can and did indeed became President, but unfortunately it is one of President of India’s observation that a muslim will struggle to get a peon job, in the same India.

This is the same India which discriminate in jobs/equal opportunities by reservation to the exclusion of Muslims and Christians. Now the barriers are raised to 50 upto 65% for persons who are not Muslim and Christion by the definition of” Hindus”!!!

Victimization?? Only want equal opportunity here, without the basis of caste and religion for every citizen. Not the ceremonial “show off”post of president. Is it too much to ask??

  24. Palahalli Says:

Khan – You are simply unbelievable and freaky man!

I said Brahmins were not the only folks in the RSS. Rajendra Singh was not a Brahmin and yet was Sarsanghachalak.

You say you attended Shakhas and still talk like a lout about anti-Muslim propaganda in the Shakhas :) Which “anti-Muslim” Shakha pramukh allowed you in btw? :))

I agree, madrasas are excellent. Please carry on.

No Hindus huh? Sure, Hindus never exist for rogues until Hindus bite in the butt and then these very rogues should…”fascist Hindus!”

As for stealing “mughal throne”…it’s no crime to steal from a theif :)

Ok…so now unlike 65% Indians, Muslims are painted as villains. Earlier you had us believe that 85% Indians were exluded?? :))

Hey buddy…we like our democracy. You don’t? Take a short walk..west or east. You’ll feel at home :)

Mughals lost militarily and morally if they had any morals in the first place.

Oh ho…now both muslims and christians are discriminated and victimized?? Your %s are all very wonky now Khan. Take rest. You need sleep.

  25. verybleedingheart Says:

Instead of aspiring to be a peon at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, why not try to find out from those Muslims who made it to the front in the following fields?

Chief Justice of India and High court judges, Chief of Air Force, several top officers in the Army in the rank of Major Gen/Lt. Gen, Defence Research Scientist/Advisor (who made it to the President of India), Union and state Ministers, UGC chief, vice-Chancellors, journalists, popular cinema stars, cricket and hockey players, classical and film musicians etc. etc.

These are not by any means “ceremonial” or “show off” posts.

  26. narasimha Says:

    Hi Pal,

You are wasting your time with this Khan dude. He is a well know Al-Taqiya master on this website. No use reasoning with this guy.

As I said earlier a Muslim agenda is very clear world over “Secularism when in minority …Sharia when in majority”. Khan is mighty concerned about the re-awakening of the hindu’s in this land and knows that sooner than later the muslim bluff will be called. For community that cares a rats behind for its minorities, he does very tall talking :)
