Barely a fortnight after registering a thumping win in the Lok Sabha polls, the BJP government of B.S. Yediyurappa has run head-first into a storm of dissidence.
Power minister K.S. Eswarappa has openly criticised the chief minister on the choice of his son B.Y. Raghavendra as a candidate, and raised questions on the means adopted for the BJP’s win in Karnataka. The Reddy Brothers—Somashekhar, Karunakar and Janardhan—absented themselves from the first anniversary fete. Tourism minister B. Sriramulu is said to be peeved at the small margin of his sister J. Shantha‘s victory. And rumours of between 40-60 legislators being disillusioned enough with Yediyurappa to sharpen their knives are doing the rounds.
Question: Will B.S. Yediyurappa complete his term? Or is the writing on the wall?

Four Central Ministers assigned to the State in addition to Y Samuel Reddy assigned (after his success in getting Moily CBpur Dist); Eswarappa chooses to express his opinion only after all this!
Something is brewing. Yeddi Gaddi exit Ready…

Will you please add “I hope not” to the list of options for “Will B.S. Yediyurappa serve a full term as chief minister?” :)
2 June 2009 at 9:59 pm
Why is there no “Hope not” in the choices?
2 June 2009 at 10:51 pm
What was Eashwarappa doing all this time when Raghavendra was fielded and won the elections?
Reddy brothers are known to play both sides of the divide, supporting YSR in Andhra and supporting Yeddiyurappa in Karnataka…is there any wonder that this move is coming after UPA secured a comfortable majority at the center. Now it is time to destabilise the non-UPA state govrenments(read BJP governments). Let the games begin.

So yeddi’s cheddi is being pulled!!! Did I not mention it in the runup, “Operation swift hand” ?? Sorry if I come across as “i told you so”, but the fact is Yeddis days are numbered.
I would like to hear some cheddi whining, like it is so “undemocratic”, opportunist congress, dirty gowda’s conspiracy on innocent yeddi, hey maybe spell that yeddi talks about, some historical baggage of we hindus like that only..
I can understand the pain, after the shocking defeat, all via corrupt chawla rigged voting machines, to Eshwarappa doing vaghela.
WHat should be done to stop this?? Only a riot in mangalore?? or maybe a AL-something bomb-blast can save yeddi.
3 June 2009 at 11:19 am
Yeddi will come up with some thing. He has been quite astute in keeping the spotlight on Reddy Brothers and their ‘legal/illegal’ mining activities. It is natural that AP CM is working overtime to install a Cong-led government in Karnataka! Now it has been proved beyond doubt that the central team of BJP is even worse than the communists (N-Deal and other matters), I won’t spare any tears for BJP.

yeddiyurappa wanted reddy’s help to finish the so called appa makkaLa paksha. He took the support and forgot to reward them.Thats it.
I hope that govt does not fall else the whole confidence of kannadigas will fall.
Its a lesson for those who think about scaring relatives by keeping snakes in their home. They don’t know that one fine day the snake itself will kill the members.

Though I couldn’t care less for the poll, I would like to congratulate churumuri for displaying the much dreaded word :) I can not understand the phobia of some people above for the f word (I don’t dare to mention it, because I might get censored). We are all adults and ought to use the word to vent out the frustration.
If it should never be used what is the pointing of having it in english language. There is nothing called “bad word”. It is the “context” which is important.
3 June 2009 at 1:29 pm
Abhi,
i know u r an adult :) ( Hope so!!!)
Boss expressing a word like F doesnt validate ur adultness. It shows how (A)matured u r. And i believe using such words nowadays is becoming a phobia.
This word can be definetly replaced with respect to the above context if we want to express our frustrations.
anyways once again a yo yo kannadiga of the great catastrophic bengaluru supporting bangalore kannada!!!!!

Abhi
Please understand that the F word is still listed as slang in oxford/cambridge dictionaries. Sure it has become part of our language (did you see how P. Ojha’s vocab consisted of only the F words whenever he dismissed BRC batsmen :)), but it still is not an accepted word to be included in formal English.

Gowdre, I am finding it hard to understand some of what are you trying to convey above. It could be my lack of understanding of English of certain kind or your inability to articulate. Either ways, don’t mind :)

Not A Witty Nick – you don’t have to go that far :)…Just fcuk or f*ck would do. Its amazing how a * will make it perfectly legitimate.
Only if we had the same extent of dislike for the action of “fuck” that we possess for the word “fuck”, we wouldn’t have a population crisis here :)

@Khan Saheb
>>WHat should be done to stop this?? Only a riot in mangalore??
Hmm Maybe not. Muttala Mutalik’s beyond his “use by date” as marked by Moily + Sheila Dixit. Unless Khanngress has planned more riots.
Invite TV Cameras to some other place (Maybe Udupi this time ; time to imprison the Pejawar Mutt priests also. What say you ?).

Should there be a question mark at the end of this much debated question? Hell, who gives an f?

Abhi,
Guru, In simple words, using such words in a public forums are not suitable.

In the LAST TEN years, BJP has shown to be the worst party when it comes to indiscipline in the party. Dissidence is the hallmark of BJP.
ANd that too, dissidence at the highest LEVELS. At the level of CM.
1. Uma Bharati, ex CM of MP, openly defied and challenged Advani on live TV
2. Uma was sacked, taken back, and again sacked for dissidence.
3. Madan lal khurana, ex CM of Delhi was sacked for anti party activities
4. Kalyan Singh, ex CM of UP was sacked, taken back and sacked again for defying party’s diktaits
5. Keshubhai Patel, ex CM of Gujarat openly supported anti-modi factions and thereby got suspended
6. Suresh Mehta, ex CM of Gujarat was shown the door by BJP for being suffocated by BJP’s central leadearship
In every state there has been at least three CMs which have been changed within five years of their rule. Sad commentary on the infighting within BJP
Going by this trend, BJP in karnataka has started massive infigthing within a year of coming to power.
4 June 2009 at 12:36 pm
BJP will fall face down in Karnataka.
Yeddyurappa’s government will collapse. I pity the voters who trusted this double snake faced party.
Bcoz of this Karnataka will suffer.

4 June 2009 at 7:35 pm
I hope our leaders learn to be disciplined. It is ridiculous for State of Karnataka to suffer because our leaders can never agree on anything – most of all on who should lead them.
The primary reason to vote BJP in last state elections was stability. If they can’t provide it, they’ll all loose massively.
So, I sincerely hope BSY will complete the term. Not because I like him or like his style of functioning, but because what we need, more than anything else, is stability, and govts that last their terms.
