All that needs to be said about the ongoing political tamasha in Karnataka has been said.
That B.S. Yediyurappa had it coming. That the Reddy Brothers weren’t helping him all this while for fresh air and hope. That behind every successful politician, there is a woman (and she needn’t be his wife). That the BJP is only reaping what it sowed.
Etcetera.
But few are asking the two key questions.
# One, can a set of miners, howsoever powerful and howsoever monied, appropriate to themselves the responsibilities of the State (like rebuilding the lives and houses of the flood-affected). And when they are not allowed to do so, can they just start bawling like spoilt brats and hold the verdict of the people at gunpoint in various resorts and hotels?
# And two, can the principal secretary of a State, an IAS officer with a demonstrated record of integrity, V.P. Baligar, be transferred just because one of the sides involved in the internecine battle in the ruling party doesn’t like him or finds him an irritant in its path and designs?

the crooked reddy brothers and mr. sriramulu have it coming. shame on them.
i predict that 12 months from now those crooks will be answering for their environmental pillage in unending chakkars of the law courts.
mr. yeddyurappa should keep his chin up. fate has handed him a lemon; he should make uppina kai (due apologies to dale carnegie). i think the people of karnataka would love some uppina kai.

hmmm…
@ppl who want the current BJP govt. out.
I recently made a trip to dharwad from blore by car. These days I take it as a fact of existence that even if all the state governments in India finish up projects of laying “nice wide smooth” roads all over their respective states(irrespective of whether they are two lane/4lane/6lane), we in Karnataka are just fated to have lousy incomplete road projects at any given point of time.
That apart, what I also noticed was that there were a lot of projects such as flyovers across existing railway line to avoid the traffic having to stop at railway crossings, grade seperators etc. which were “in progress”. Upon enquiry from some of the locals, they told me that all this work which was started ages ago had come to a stand still under the auspices of the prev govt. (the before yeddi). The locals actually seemed happy that this work had finally restarted.
This makes me wonder 2 things,
1. Reading churumuri articles seem to make yeddi s govt look like the most inefficient govt. in place, but the locals seem to tell me otherwise.
2. Despite all the criticisms that churumuri articles provide, none of seems to be able to actually mention an alternative solution as to having which govt. in place will help achieve completion of old incomplete projects. Right now Karnataka pretty much is like the M S Ramaiah College(Bangalore) campus up until few years ago….Random buildings under construction all over the campus but barely any complete, complete chaos!

What is the sin committed by Shobha Karndlaje and VP Baligar? They have only acted at the behest of their master to serve his cause and safeguard his interest. If the master is not able to safeguard them in return and allows them to be sacrificed at the altar of political exigencies, he does not deserve to be called as master. He has the vicarious responsibility for whatever done in his name. Basically he must own it up and meet the consequences that throwing his supporters to the wolves.

One can understand Yeddyurappa agreeing to the demand for dropping of Shobha, who is after a political entity. But what about Baligar? He is after all an official. He would not have done anything on his own without the express bidding by Yeddyurappa .
By shifting him unceremoniously from the post, Mr Yeddyurappa has proved that there is something lacking in his leadership. He should have gone down fighting rather than sacrificing his supporters.

At the current rate or trend Karnataka will end up like another Jharkand. Sad state of affairs. Spineless BJP. They do not have any control over their members and they are taking us on a ride. Power politics which was seen in Congress, has entered BJP also.

very naive questions.

“For my selfish ends, I was forced to ditch those who were my trusted people.
This what is yeddy’s and cheddis all about, selfish ends. Be it demolishing Mosques or massacring innocents…..all for selfish ends of few.

Khan Sahebre:
Please also let us know what other non-selfish alternative are?
Congress with its Muslim Appeasement strategies? We had our home minister go and attend a function in which a Muslim group banned singing our National Song!! What about the biggest massacre in post-independence era in 1984 sikh riots?? Was it done by BJP?
Or are you saying Gowda clan is the model of selflessness?
In the lack of alternatives, why make selfishness an issue?
The only choice we really have is – who is the lesser of the evils. :-(

National song?? LOL
Do you know the bigot who wrote it???

harkol, do not look for alternatives because there is none. Earlier you understand this, better you will be. only 2 kinds – those who suck upto Hindus or those who suck upto Muslims.
