I respect anyone who is cognizant of the problems of urban India and has done something to alleviate the sufferings of city dwellers. Nitin Gadkari is a different & rare politician. The guy conceived MSRDC in mid 90s and gave its CEO (BTW, has anyone kept track of Mr.Sinha’s career) free hand to build roads, bridges and flyovers across Maharashtra.
I don’t know how much of this is hyperbole but Gadkari also claims that Pardhan Mantri Grameen Sadak Yojana was conceptualized by him. If it is true, then half of the Indian villages should thank him for the good roads.
The tent city is a great idea and a superb team building exercise. Imagine 5000 delegates from all over the country in a tent city. Well done Mr. Gadkari!!

A 28-year-old woman, an alleged member of Indian Mujahideen and accomplice of American Centre attack convict Aftab Ansari, was arrested here along with four US nationals for purportedly selling fake herbal products, police said on Friday.
Nikita, who served over six years in prison and released in 2008, will also be interrogated by intelligence agencies in view of the Pune terror attack. She was arrested on Thursday from Jor Bagh market in south Delhi for selling the products through internet.
The arrested have been identified as Richard Eugenes (36), Tommy Ojeaga (38), Aaron (34), all hailing from Nigeria, and Lucien (35) from Ivory Coast, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) H G S Dhaliwal said.

goering’s theory. fits the hindutva case to a T. but if anybody believes that the only obscurantist community in all of india are the sanghis then they are fooling themselves. a case in point is when polio vaccinations are rejected as a conspiracy against a particular people.

sure. but the insecurity is different from the insecurity felt by the majority who hound out ahmediya minority. hindu insecurity is not doctrinal. hindu insecurity is not because muslims follow a different spiritual path. it is based on historic grievances and empirical evidence, which ofcourse maybe overstated but not entirely far fetched given the organized resistance in cases such as alimony.
if the case is let bygones be bygones and we should be forward looking then it is different. but the scene often is denial(as in problems this ganesh chaturthi in sangli) and ridicule (as when khan himself persistently slanders bhyrappa without ever refuting bhyrappa’s actual work)

The link mentioned by Khan is a bit funny- starts off calling it the Risque Mahabharatha and then ends saying its really not risque but an interesting read- talk of flip-flops. All of the ‘ juicy bits’ mentioned are really familiar to everyone. Things not mentioned there such as the secret crush Draupadi had on Karna, The sexual innuendo in Duryodana pointing at his left thigh etc are pretty well known and no sensible Hindu gets his/her knickers in a twist when these are discussed.
Rather than silly blogs such the one mentioned Khan might get an education in the Mahabharatha if he read Parva by his bete noire SL Bhyrappa.
