Bangalore boys get a thumbs up from global girls

In an effort to spread cheer and happiness to far corners of the country in these bleak times, the Hindustan Times corners the cheer girls of the Indian Premier League for their considered opinion on crowds at IPL matches, on strict condition of anonymity, of course.

“The Mohali crowds get very crude and nasty. They look as if they’ll get violent,” said one of the girls from Johannesburg (she cannot be named as cheerleaders are not allowed to speak on such subjects to the media)

“Bangalore was their favourite city. ‘The people are good and the atmosphere is brilliant,’ said one of the girls.

“Their second favourite city is Mumbai (and no, they haven’t been hounded by Sena types). ‘We’ve had no problem there,’ the cheerleader said.”

Finally, how was Delhi? The Capital was dubbed “okay“.

    Huh!

    These girls like Bangaluru because our city is Pub city and city of Vijay Mallya their benefactor.

    I am not surprised about the unruliness of the Mohali crowd. Punjab (along with Haryana) leads the nation in killing female fetuses and has one of the lowest sex ratios in the country (random example: Jalandar district has only 805 girls for 1000 boys, in the age group of 0-6 years). At this rate, Cheerleaders are the closest most Punjabi men will ever get to a woman – no wonder their mating instincts flare up!

    As an aside, it will be interesting to see how the crowds in Cochin (Kerela has a female-male sex ratio of 1050-1000) would behave towards the Cheerleaders.

    @Bhushan,
    may be Kochi will be the first to have male cheerleaders ;)
