Is Manmohan Singh becoming a “Rollback PM”?

Yashwant Sinha, finance minister in the former BJP-led NDA regime, had a well-earned reputation as “Rollback FM”.

Given the speed with which key policy decisions taken in haste are being “revisited” by the current Congres-led UPA regime—the creation of Telengana, the 33% women’s reservation bill, the insertion of a caste column in the census—is Manmohan Singh running the risk of earning the epithet of “Rollback PM”?

“Congress he hath, brahmin ke saath”.

Did not understand this line used ? What does this mean ? What does the cartoonist wants say.

    Help, please…

  2. Not A Witty Nick Says:

    WTF does this cartoon mean?

A census enumerating caste and economic status will result only in identifying the krimi creamy layer, no?

Mail Today is so unlike India Today group, more readable too. :P

  3. chetan krishnaswamy Says:

    rollback better than rollcall …!

  4. Pagan Says:

What? Is the cartoonist suggesting congress haath is not with aam aadmi?
Sonia G and MMS have joined hands with brahmins to oppress the oppressed castes and minorities?

  5. Ashoka Says:

A very confused caption….Elaborate with proper evidence.

  6. harkol Says:

    What ever!

And why not?! Blame everything Brahmins! For all hostrical wrongs and also present messups!

Consider this – MMS/Congress or any other party has nothing to gain by pleasing the brahmins.. They are a very small minority (Far smaller than Muslims).

They are a convenient scape-goat to blame for all the ills of the society, when they were never the Rulers of India…

The sections who ruled (and continue to rule today), already enjoy reservations or want new reservations done!!! How about that for irony??

  7. Pulikeshi the Last Says:

At least one of the implications is that the drowning Brahmin in the slime pit will take the prime minister down with him.

Brahmins are always hatching conspiracies. I think Chanakya started it all. The diplomatic enclave in New Delhi is appropriately named after him.

Why there should be so much trouble in Kashmir even after all the conspiracy hatching Pundits were lobbed out on a diasporic ride all over the world, making the state almost all Muslim and Sikh, escapes me.

  8. Doddi Buddi Says:

    Chetan K,

MMS is a roll call PM! Only he is not doing it directly but others like Raja, Praful Patel, Twittoor are doing it on his behalf. You cannot be a ’3-monkeys’ rolled into one and offer inane explanations on the splendid deeds of Raja and others:)

  9. Punda Says:

    WT beep does this mean?

We need reservation based on caste but we do not agree for census.

  10. Cool dude Says:

Commies killing people and churumuri in ‘See no evil, Hear no evil’ mode?

  11. rajeev Says:

    huh Hippocrates

  12. Aravind Says:

Soon the cabinet will ask for Gotra to be included in the census.Everyone please find out yours and have a default gotra ready.

  13. Andy Says:

One more thing i could not help notice..the brahmin has a smile and seems quite happy in the pit..

    why ?

  14. kaangeya Says:

Stupidity? P.Chidambaram a Chettiar opposes the “caste” census, while Pranab Mukherjee a Brahman is in favour of it. Since some Kannadigas on this blog guys are so taken up with Mannina Maga, please spend some time reading S.N. Balagangadhara’s thoughts on this subject. Baalu not only has set up a cultural anthropolgy center in Europe, but also has established a center at Kuvempu University that has conducted the most extensive study of jatis in Karnataka ever.

  15. Tanveer Says:

I could not get the cartoon…How would Manmohan help Brahmins? It is the otherway round, Manmohan needs Brahmin support to continue his stint in power.
