Nothing reveals the disconnect between the Gandhian mode of protest that is the pada yatra, and the un-Gandhians who undertake it to attain his aura, than the spectacle of Congressmen and women walking from Bangalore to Bellary, ostensibly to bring the nation’s attention to the illegal mining in Sonia Gandhi‘s former constituency.
Overweight Congresswomen prancing like item girls, unfit Congressmen getting their calf muscles squeezed at close of day’s play, expensive buses and ambulances burning petrol to keep them alive… you have to wonder if the Mahatma had such hedonism in mind when he walked for the salt of the earth 70 years ago.
On Saturday, the working president of the Karnataka Congress, D.K. Shiva Kumar, all of 48 years old, put his leg up on the dubious Chinese device that tickles the underfoot of mall-goers, at Tavarekere on national highway 4. Click.

Wait till this circus gets over, all these jokers will flock to private deluxe suites in the 5 star hospitals of their choice!

No political party or its members are perfect these days….. They are so because of our own people who vote for money. Problem is not with the politicians who buy votes but people who accept money to vote..
DKS though not a saint still walking for a committment and cause.

“dubious Chinese device”
:))

Haha… Churumuri the contrarian gives no quarter, takes none either.

For all the fun heaped on them, one thing you have to admit – They are indeed walking (fit or not)!
Most other yatras of modern time were done on top of vans. Can’t think of any modern yatra by main leaders that covered 300+km by road.
For once, congress seems to have pulled one over BJP in the state.

Che paapa. The massage is not a new thing for DK_Shivkumar alias Satanur Duryodhana…. Even his daily activities has changed. Unlike hurling meaningless abuse at others at Vidhana Soudha, he now under lips abuses Sidramaiah, who planned the padayatra, which according to him is meaningless.
And these TV channels are following them as if the yatra is to stop a national disaster. What about flood hit victims who are living shelter less since a year? what about the collapsing administration in state? shame to all political parties and leaders.

The Congress’ Bangalore-Bellary padayatra is turning out to be a predictable yet shocking revelation on the so-called youth leaders that will be in near future ‘unanimously elected’ by the state and central Cong-I cartel.
The twenty-somethings and early-thirties children of the current crop of most crooked Congress leaders are supposed to be actively participating in the padayatra, a.k.a walk a few KMs for the media and public, next relax in one of the numerous accompanying air conditioned ‘support vehicles’, refreshments and/or a peg, sneak a nap and then get back into the public padayatra glare when the walk reaches yet another town!
A quick look at the children with the golden spoon and high commands blessings indicates the most obvious future of Karnataka! Almost all these rich, spoilt kids already have a thriving business in real estate, hotels, tech parks, granite quarrying, BDA-Muda sites, Imports-Exports, Excise-PWD contracts, Investment consultancy and iron ore mining apart from active involvement in laundering the ill-gotten wealth of their parents and grand parents!
The partial list of future leaders from the Cong-I include, union minister Mallikarjun Kharge’s ‘noted’ son Priyank Kharge, Former ‘scotch’ chief minister N Dharam Singh’s son Ajay Singh, ‘parked governor’ Margaret Alva’s son Nivedith Alva, deputy leader in the assembly T B Jayachandra’s son Santhosh Jayachandra, state youth Congress vice-president Rizwan Arshad , MLA M Krishnappa’s son Priya Krishna, former JDS leader Siddaramaiah’s son Rakesh. The list also includes new MLAs like Dinesh Gundu Rao, Krishna Byregowda, , N L Narendra Babu, former chief minister S Bangarappa’s squabbling sons Kumar Bangarappa and Madhu Bangarappa, former CM J H Patel’s official son Mahima Patel..etc.
After all it is a great Gandhi inspired march to rule kannadigas after the BJP’s betrayal, self propelled disaster and high profile corruption, under a ‘crying CM and openly crooked flunkies’.
Not surprising, even youths in various towns and villages, who currently run the local mafia, with ‘noted’ criminal backgrounds have joined the padayatra, harbouring bright dreams of a ‘rewarding career’ in politics.
Well, success in Indian politics has many fathers and Godfathers, while the mother is the same. On reaching Tavarekere, when asked who the commander of the walkathon was, Deshpande and DKS agreed: Sonia Gandhi!

Congress, BJP or the JDS – same old rotten wine in a new bottle. Reading comments on churmuri (not just on this news but in general) I have a feeling that people have no hopes on the current politicians.
For once, I ask churmuri to publish less about these dirty rotten tomatoes but to focus on Lok satta party , its karnataka wing and Jayaprakash Narayan. Even if the rotten tomatoes do bad things, you are only making them more popular by publishing about them.

@Not A Witty Nick
Whats surprising in getting into deluxe suites? You have to differentiate between public & private life. Private life is led depending on their income.
2 August 2010 at 9:47 am
Haha.. good one. Where is my fearless leader, ex-PM De-Gow ? and his loyal anunayi (follower) hallin daaktru ?
2 August 2010 at 12:22 pm
Ok, they are walking!! But what is achieved by it? Not only this, even the proposed yatra by the Reddys, nothing is achieved, just showmanship infront of hapless people along the way.
2 August 2010 at 12:47 pm
I agree with Harkol.
Master of yatras, BJP is left gaping asCongress for once steals a march (literally) over its foes.
2 August 2010 at 3:11 pm
@Govinda,
>already have a thriving business in real estate, hotels, tech parks, granite quarrying, BDA-Muda sites, Imports-Exports, Excise-PWD contracts, Investment consultancy and iron ore mining
More the merrier, as I keep on saying these are the best VCs in town. Let million flowers (enterprises) bloom.
2 August 2010 at 4:04 pm
What Govinda says is truly shocking- but then all’ Family’ fans are likely to look upon this as with a benign smile.
As for the Congress march achieving anything at all I am really ‘ laughing my guts ‘ !!
2 August 2010 at 6:23 pm
Politics used to be confined to streets. Now it has moved on to highways. We seem to be doing better when it comes to our roads. Hardly any complaints about road conditions by the yaathris. Neither do they say anything about lack of water, sporadic rural electrification, wandering cattle, or vast tracts of water starving crops. What is all the ruckus about, then?
2 August 2010 at 6:25 pm
Kannadiga:
>Ok, they are walking!! But what is achieved by it?
Short answer – Checks and balance within our corrupt system. ;-)
While we can’t root out corruption with the kind of inequity in our social/economic spheres, our system atleast needs to make sure there is a check on corruption too being within some level.
When an opposition party garners sufficient support on some anti-corruption move to rattle a govt. it achieves the objective of being a check on unbridled abuse of power.
2 August 2010 at 7:37 pm
@Govinda, brilliant composition – as true as it gets.
BTW, rest of the parties are not far behind. Fast forward 15 years: I can see Reddy Brothers’ progenies calling the shots.
2 August 2010 at 8:34 pm
A big joke.
Congress is talking baout illgeal mining.
alll parties are involved in mining. …
3 August 2010 at 12:37 pm
Its true he (dikeshi) is now a noted Gandhian (p**ja).

Most of the Congress politicians own palatial houses in Sadashivnagar and most of the prime localities of Bangalore. They’re crying wolf when BJP does the same thing…All crooks….not a single exception……now the sons are striving hard to get into the game and make some fast money by hopping onto the bandwagon.all the sons are 30somethings and are already crorepatis : ).wonder how they are always ready with a second line of business(??) to launder their ill-gotten gains…
