Just one question I’m dying to ask Suresh Kalmadi

The Commonwealth Games 2010 have been a stupendous PR disaster for a country that likes to think that it is racing alongside China. What was to have been New Delhi’s response to Beijing’s Olympics, has become a 21st century epitaph of ancient Indian specialities such as corruption, nepotism, inefficiency, unaccounability and worse.

Now that the shit has really hit the false ceiling, metaphorically speaking, what is the one question you would like to ask namma Suresh Kalmadi, the chairman of the organising committee who was known as Suresh “Calamity” in the Indian Air Force because of his ability to run into calmaities calamities with his car every so often?

Like, would Rahul baba have handled this better like his papa did the Asian Games in 1982? Like, is his sense of hygiene the same as his Man Friday, Lalit Bhanot‘s?

  1. M Vijapurkar Says:

Would you and Mrs Sheila Dikshit give the construction contract for your next farm house to the same guy who put up the bridge ‘for the ordinary people’ that collapsed outside the JLN Stadium?

  2. vindy Says:

    Suresh bega jaaga ‘kaalimaade’

  3. Gaby Says:

Wonder what on earth are ‘ calmaities’ ?? Are ther calamities that have run into a blender?

  4. Andy Says:

Read somewhere that suresh kalmadi is now being referred as Sure Kalamity..

What at a disgraceful fall for a person who was once ( quite stupidly) called Suresh KHELmadi

Tragedy is that the Government has allowed this bandicoot to wager nation’s pride while sleeping over this for seven @#%$%ing years…shame really

  5. Kitapati Says:

What is the secret of your survival as # 1 sports official in India for so many decades?

  6. Anirudhh Says:

Shame on the part of India what suresh Kalmadi,M.S.Gill sports minister did in CWG2010.Our honourable court either should recover Thousands of Crores of Indian rupees which been paid by Indian people against Taxes and Hand these two bloody idiots till death.IS SHEELA DIXIT ALSO EQUALLY RESPONSIBLE..A big question.

Shame on part of Priminister of India too who woke up from sleep too late on CWG issues.LET SPORTS MINISTER AND KALMADI RESIGN IMMEDIATELY FOR MAKING THIS MESS AND MAKING THIS DISASTER.

  7. Somebody Says:

Maybe, different countries have different levels of shame!

  8. prasad Says:

    Dear Kala Madi Ri,
What is the % share for the PM & Sonia & Congress party?

  9. karihaida Says:

How disappointed and worried are you that the Ayodhya verdict is postponed?

  10. Kelu Janamejaya Says:

How much money have you paid to the Gandhy family to retain you in this position for such a long time?

  11. Abhishek Says:

Good question actually. Whenever I imagine being face to face with him, I think of only assaulting him, both physically and verbally!

  12. Narayana Says:

    Question I would ask is.
Can you make this the theme song for commonwealth.

  13. 'mudi'malnad Says:

Whom do you want to head the enquiry commitee ? Mr bharadwaj or Mr Lalu Yadav OR A retired supreme court chief justice!

  14. div Says:

The root cause of all the problems is that politicians have to spend 10 crore or more to become an MP. Once you spend that kind of money and have so much insecurity, there is no way you can be honest.

Asking a question to SK doesn’t serve any purpose.

Answer to this kind of mess is:
New kind of politics heralded by Loksatta party
    Decentralization
Governments, which have consistently failed the people of India, for more than 60 years should become less powerful.

    ***

this whole saga of Common WEALTH filth shows another contrast. Go to any public toilet in any bus stop, railway station or in any railway compartment in INdia, it will always be shitty. Somehow, people of India are fine with living in such conditions, when it comes to foreign guests then the government wants it to be clean while it always gives shitty things to its own people!!! People of India have been failed by their governments, they should demand implementation of the constitution.

  15. chanakya Says:

Dear Kalmadi, please don’t ask commission from the sex workers during the CWG. At least, leave them to to their job. They are 1000% better than you.

  16. Pramaanika Says:

Why do you want to talk to thieves who have looted the country ?
They say what’s in a name , there is everything as people have suggested.
    “KALLA(Thief/loot) MADI(do)”
    “KAALA(blackmark)MADI”

the one I would suggest is
    “KALLA(thief) MADI(you should DIE)”

  17. Anonymous Guy Says:

I dont think the man cares about questions.

  18. Nagendra Bhatta Says:

Thank You, Mr. Kalmadi (and Bhanot and Gil and…) for proving India’s true capabilities. After all, we took a huge pride in the success of ‘slumdog millionnaire’! We need people like you to remind rest of the world how empty and hollow the talks of ‘India next global power’ are!!

    Thank you, again!

  19. twelfth_man Says:

    Dear Mr. Kalmadi
What should I reply when a well meaning British friend asks me if India will make it happen…and how there is so much apathy and lack of accountablity..if they can do a last minute cleanup..why not do it before everyone raises hell? Is this the image of India you would like for us all to carry with us? Why not give us another E Sreedharan?

  20. rohan Says:

A nation Racing along side china ? alas we are a nation more on the lines of ‘gumpnalli govinda’

  21. Anshuman Patel Says:

I second AG’s view. This guy is beyond questions. If he were to care we wouldn’t be asking these Qs to him now.

Once the games are over, I just hope this man is sent to the cleaners along with his partners in crime.

It’s sad indeed the way these folks muddied the name of India. I am not for a big bash like CWG. But now that we are deep into it, let’s hope it goes off well.

  22. Vinay Says:

    Kalmadi:

I won’t bash you like all the other posters are doing. You know and I know, that you are a crook. There is no disputing that.

But my concern is, why are you allowing yourself to be made a one-man scapegoat? You are not alone responsible for the mess. Why don’t you give up all moh-maya, and start naming each and every person who is part of this mess, after the games are over? That way you can atone for your crookedness.

  23. karihaida Says:

    Some forward …
    Suresh Kalmadi == Sure Calamid(t)y

  24. Curry Hurry Says:

“start naming each and every person who is part of this mess, after the games are over”
Surely there’s a reason Madam insists on the inquiry only after the games are over. Plenty of time to hide the paper trail. One or two scapegoats and it’s Swiss Swift Business as usual.
What’s this common wealth nonsense. The money looted could have built a whole lot public infrastructure .. like toilets for instance. I wouldn’t mind them all being named after the first family either.

  25. SRao Says:

    Good job Suresh Calamity!!!
