What the Ram-bhakts can learn from Sri Krishna

E.R. RAMACHANDRAN writes: Yesterday, Ajji was watching TV for quite some time.

Normally she doesn’t watch it for more than a few minutes unless it is Vidyabhushana singing Dasara padagalu or Basavanna’s vachanas.

Ajji! What happened? You are watching TV as if it is Garuda Purana by Bhadragiri Achyutha Dasaru.”

“This is more than Garuda Purana kano. It is ‘Bhoomi Svaaha Vyaakhyaana ‘ from Bookanakere Yediyurappa dasaru!.”

Ajji is now up to date on all scams having earlier followed CWG, Adarsh and G.G. Raja—which is Manmohan Singh ji & Sonia Gandhi ji if you think administration is a shared responsibility in UPA.

Alvo! I remember the time when Acharya Vinobha Bhave started the ‘Bhoodaan Movement’ in the sixties trying to get donations of land for the landless. Now there is ‘Bhoo Aaposhana’ movement in Karnataka!”

Sariyaagi helide, Ajji! The bhoo daana here are for the landless sons, daughters, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law and grandfather’s brother’s third cousin’s sister, of the chief minister!”

Aha! Yella daana shura karanaru! All the donations are for the members of family and their extended family!”

“Karnataka has become the laughing stock of the country, Ajji.”

“Do people get elected in our country only to make property for their kith and kin by mostly dubious means? Is that their only agenda?”

Howdajji.  ‘Site site everywhere, not an inch to breathe’ (with due apologies to S.T. Coleridge)’ aagide.”

Yeno site-u site-u antha padya shuru maad-de? Adu sari, how can they re-notify a de-notified site so easily?”

“Simple, Ajji. By extending the line in letter ‘D’ further down and adding a small slanting inverted stroke ‘ \’  below D to make it ‘R’!”

Yentha master-stroke kano, Ramu!”

“All our ministers are masters of master strokes, Ajji!”

“Isn’t it Gandhiji who said, ‘we have enough for our need, not for our greed?’  In just a few months after becoming ministers, they start a fictitious company in the name of a son or daughter and get a site sanctioned. In a few days or months, they sell it off at exorbitant prices to make obscene profit. They are neither educated nor qualified to start an industry. Still, how do they get the land, loan etc sanctioned in a jiffy? And they get loans sanctioned on fictitious addresses? How does the CM sanction lands for his sons so audaciously throwing rules to the gutter?”

“This is the speciality of Karnataka politics. Whether it is present or past, single or coalition or 20×20 government, they all have been mainly cornering sites throughout.”

Nachikkgedu! All of them visit swamijis’ mutts at the drop of a vibhuthi or kumkumada bharani. I feel even Duryodhana was better as he refused to give 5 grama, or 5 kugrama or even 5 square inch of space to the Pandavas. At least there was no nepotism then. We have to recollect the story of the great king, what’s his name, Bali Chalravarthy who, like Karna, was the epitome of self-sacrifice.”

“Bali Chakravarthy?”

Howdu Kano! When Krishna requested for space for just three steps, the eternal daani, Bali, readily agreed. The first step took the entire Aaksasha (sky), second step all of Bhoomi (earth), and when Krishna asked where he should keep his third step, Bali asked him to keep it on his head! That was the pinnacle of human sacrifice; just the anti-thesis of the Karnataka chief minister or his ministers!’

Nija, Ajji.”

Nodu, I had almost forgotten the name of Bali. These days, haaLu maravu—and confusion in spelling kano. To use whether or weather when we talk of climate; or to use ‘T’ or ‘C’ when you want to spell ‘chief’.”

  1. Kusum Says:

Let us for once accept it: the Cong-I leaders of the past as well as present (inlcuding SMK) apart from the famous Mannina Maga & Mannina Mommakkalu Gowda clan have made and still making crores through everything illegal, including grabbing premium real estate, infrastructure contracts and illegal mining. But what is unique about such crooks is that none of them claim to be clean!

Unlike the equally corrupt politicians of the Cong-I or JDS that we have come to accept as the norm, Yeddyurappa has always cried and publicly pledged to God that he is clean and doing nothing but great service to the poorest in Karnataka!

Thanks to Yeddyurappa obscene benevolence, his real-estate sons and close family members, greedy state BJP MLAs and MPs, the politically inclined saints and caste conscious seers, opposition cartel, gangsters, illegal mining barons, excise contractors, pseudo astrologers and ‘coffee-estate’ angels have always encouraged his nepotism and shameless corruption to reach new heights

One fails to comprehend as to why is the BJP high command (and RSS, locally led by two supremely corrupt and shady characters called Suresh Joshi and Suresh Soni) shielding absolutely corrupt and renowned crooks like KS Eshwarappa, R. Ashok, Katta Subramanya Naidu, Jagadish Shettar, Shobha Karandlaje, Janardhan Reddy, Renukacharya, B. Sriramulu, Sommanna, Umesh Katti and every single member of the current cabinet!

While it is obvious that this man will go out sooner or later, it is a tragedy that the state will only get another Ali Baba CM and a similar cabinet of 40 thieves

  2. twistleton Says:

Corruption may be the unifier we have searched for so long. That is a depressing thought…

  3. Ramesh Hegde Says:

The BJP will replace the CM and we shall have a new cabinet: Obviously same old wine in new bottle!

Despite the huge scams and making a mockery of the process of de-notification of private lands acquired by Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) and Karnataka industrial areas development board (KIADB) for various stealth and corrupt purposes, one of the key reasons why Yeddyurappa survived so far is because of the monetary and other obvious benefits the top leaders of the BJP had from the state, with the chief minister’s discretionary quota getting misused to the heights of unbelievable corruption.

Sadly, except for a few proactive stars like HD Kumaraswamy, the opposition is in a state of flux. The Congress is down in the dumps with infighting and key leaders like RV Deshpande being major beneficiaries of Yeddyurappa! How can the party work as a opposition force when Prasad R Deshpande, son of RV Deshpande was allocated 1000s of acres of ‘de-notified’ premium land!

The much-hyped padayatra initiated by JD(S) and high jacked by Cong-I to expose illegal mining failed to bring in votes. The JD(S) is left licking its wounds after its strategy to lend support to BJP rebels to topple the Yeddyurappa government bombed. Thus, unlike at the national level, the opposition in Karnataka hasn’t succeeded in cashing in on media exposes to corner the government over the scams, thanks partly to the so called opposition leaders being hand-in glove with the canny, corrupt yet arrogant Yeddyurappa and team of ruthless bandits!

Kannadiga’s have repeatedly had so many ‘Thief Ministers’ and it is high time to root out all such shamelessly corrupt politicians. Perhaps the next elections will be the last opportunity for the masses before the state officially becomes ‘de-notified’ as another Bihar!

  4. midil class Says:

Whether to use ‘C’ or ‘T’ ! That was a great joke. Saryagi heLidree ajji. BJP should learn from the CMs of other states – Gujarat, Orissa, MP, Chattisgarh and Bihar. Unless there is a statesman like CM, the BJP will go down. If the party has to survive and grow, it has to find a right CM. That is for sure. There has been no developmental work going on at all ever since BJP came into power. The People of Karnataka who had a great hope for a good and clean administration are a disappointed lot today.

  5. H.R.Bappu Satyanarayana Says:

If the BJP has to push through its agenda of cornering the Congress, the least it can do is to ask Yedyyurappa to step down. Of course compared to what other politicians have amassed wealth both in the centre and the states Yedyurappa’s crime is not that great. Unfortunatley, he was not clever enough to cover up his tracks and has to pay the price. He does not have Shakunis as spokespersons to shield him like in the Congress or even teh media

  6. gaby Says:

Shouldn’t it be RamA BhakthAs- unless of course it was tongue in cheek about the BJP which is still predominantly from the Gangetic plains?

  7. dr ramesh Says:

    yeddy won, rss lost.
never again should rss talk about culture, honesty etc ,because they have been horribly exposed. sonia gandhi is miles ahead of these DEAL MASTERS . sudarshan, mohan bhagwat wake up ,talk now . bjp and rss high command have received kick backs from yeddy denotification deals which made them mute spectators.

  8. Vinay Says:

    dr ramesh:

Welcome back. Surprising to hear you put in a good word about Sonia. Can we revert back to the good old Devegowda worship please? :D

  9. Pulikeshi the Last Says:

Welcome back Dr. Ramesappa. Good to know now you are a Sonia (after all, it is the same thing as saying Chinnamma/Chennamma) bhaktha.

Rames Yegde is a Kumaraswamy bhaktha.

I am still in the process of finding my God/Godess.
    Pray for me.

  10. Doddi Buddi Says:

    Dr Rameshappa,

Who says National Volunteers Union have all those virtues you have cited? You are correct in saying Soniaji is miles ahead of all these deal masters:) Please let Sudarshan and Mohan enjoy their sleep.

  11. Doddi Buddi Says:

May be Yeddi should start a new cult under Swamy Denotifyappa!
Along similar lines we should see Dirty starting BlackMagicappa and so on…
