CHURUMURI POLL: Has Rahul Gandhi blown it?

For weeks, the bush telegraph in Delhi was abuzz with rumours that the Wikileak cables on India would contain something damaging about Rahul Gandhi‘s proclivities. But when it arrived this morning, it showed that it is not just his mentor Digvijay Singh who sees a Hindu ghost whereever he desires to.

The “former future prime minister of India” if things continue to go as they are for the Congress, it showed, has another pet hypothesis besides his two-nation theory of India.

The son of Sonia and Rajiv, the grandson of Indira, and the great grandson of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, allegedly told the US ambassador to India, Timothy Roemer, in August last year that he felt that the growth of “radicalised Hindu groups” which create religious tensions in India could pose a bigger threat to the country than activities of groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba.

“[Although] there was evidence of some support for (Islamic terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba) among certain elements in India’s indigenous Muslim community, the bigger threat may be the growth of radicalised Hindu groups, which create religious tensions and political confrontations with the Muslim community,” The Guardian quotes him as saying.

Rahul Gandhi has since clarified, saying that he considered terrorism and communalism of all types as a threat to India.

While the alleged involvement of fringe Hindu groups, bordering on the lunatic, is something that has come up in various bomb blasts, is certainly an uncomfortable thought, the very fact that a man who is perceived and projected as the next big hope, could even be holding such a worldview is astonishing. And that he could be broadcasting this that to a newly arrived American over lunch.

Questions: Is Rahul Gandhi right? Or is he merely appealing to the minority “vote-bank”? Is the “wikileak” on Rahul a conspiracy, as suggested by the Congress spokesman? Will his charge go down well with voters? Or will it blow his prime ministerial dreams to smithereens?

  1. shishir Says:

there’s an error in your post..
    —-
The son of Sonia and Rahul, the grandson of Indira, and the great grandson of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru,…
    —-
It should be son of Sonia and Rajeev I guess…

  2. Complex Says:

    > Is the “wikileak” on Rahul a conspiracy, as suggested by the Congress spokesman?

    Are you nuts?

  3. jagirdar Says:

Congress, muslim vote ke liye kuchh bhi kahega, kuchh bhi karega. I hope the majority sees through this game and throw out the Congress in the next elections, or sooner if a fresh one is called in the near future.

  4. karihaida Says:

Is this really churumuri? Can’t believe my eyes… something not positive against Rahul baba ????

BTW what does our desi media say about age old congress policy?

  5. Rajesh Mathews Says:

Never trust the Americans. They will say anything to suit their interests.

  6. Ventripotent Says:

Oh! People stop acting surprised…that puppy is just tutored to say such things. I want you all to watch the cover up of this obnoxious statement being done by the Media…. With fake twitter accounts by CNNIBN toeing the channel policies and complete make over of the statement into a totally docile one and complete blackout by NDTV ( i have stopped watching it, so i dont know if they are showing it)

I just hope the people stop listening to the so called PM in waiting and not play into the hands of the Congress who have been practicing the “Divide and Rule policy”. People arise and awake before it is too late.

  7. Indu Ramesh Says:

The American Ambassador must have been testing the waters when he asked Rahul Gandhi about terrorism. Can anybody believe that the ambassador had come to India without being thoroughly briefed on terrorism? And he got his story. The cable not only told Washington that Roemer was doing his job, but also how Indians, even the crown prince can be so garrulous.

  8. Furious_Telangana Says:

Is It a Bird? Is It a Plane? No! Its the Hindu Terrorists. Da da da, daa

Those days are not far when muslims will be forced to eat idli wadas. When christians will be forced to speak any languages except english. Do the hindu terrorists have no heart?

    Rahul gandhi understands.

  9. Ram Says:

Yes, Rahul Gandhi is 100% right. He clearly commented on extremist groups of both communities.
We can’t take his comments on Hindu Extremist groups from the complete context and see them separately.

And the extremist Hindu group he was referring to is Shivsena

  10. Ram Says:

Here are his words as reported by Cable in complete context

‘Responding to the ambassador’s query about Lashkar-e-Tayiba’s activities in the region and immediate threat to India, Gandhi said there was evidence of some support for the group among certain elements in India’s indigenous Muslim community’

‘However, Gandhi warned that the bigger threat may be the growth of radicalised Hindu groups, which create religious tensions and political confrontations with the Muslim community’

The risk of a ‘home-grown’ extremist front, reacting to terror attacks coming from Pakistan or from Islamist groups in India, was a growing concern and one that demanded constant attention

It is obvious that Rahul Gandhi did not support any community. He equally commented Muslim and Hindu extremist groups.

He mentioned that bigger threat MAY BE the growth of radicalised Hindu groups. He did not say that bigger threat IS THE radicalised Hindu groups. He said all these things in response to the ambassador’s query.

  11. div Says:

dynastic politics poses a bigger threat to India than any other problem. This has the potential to make India another Pak or Bangladesh with all the power in the hands of a few, usually worthless, individuals.

  12. Niranjans Says:

Its not at all surprising that such a thing has come out from Rahul “g”. He is not strong enough to take on the collective might of Islamic terrorists and their ubiquitous hidden supporters in India.

What he can certainly do is complete his and his mother’s mission of seeing to it that his religion has a stronger environment to grow. For this he needs power. And for power he needs the support of muslims. And to get the support of muslims, he needs to do all these stuff. I am not at all surprised by this.

May the “Lord” bless this perverted ass called Rahul “G”… AKA RAUL VINCI…

Let his and his mother’s mission be completed sooner than they had been ordered to accomplish…

  13. Karthik Says:

Rahul please leave india before indians kick u out of india by themselves. And mainly stop applying kunkuma on ur junk forehead as if u a true hindu baktha.

  14. Sanjeeva Says:

Will voters accept Rahul Gandhi?….. What a silly question! Can’t you see what happened in U.P. and Bihar, where congress failed to make any presence at all leave alone winning. Rahul Gandhi is not mature enough. Probably having been away from the country for most part, he may not be quite aware of the country’s situation. Also, he might have been given wrong information by vested interests, based on which he might have formed an opinion. Rajiv Gandhi had at least a vision. Rahul does not seem to have.

  15. Leader Says:

Mr. Rahul Gandhi should realize one basic thing. The very foundations of India were Hinduism. Even Indian Muslims have their roots in Hinduism for their ancestors were Hindus. Now I’ll vote for BJP …. it’s sure.

  16. VALALE SUBBANNA Says:

Rahul, a misguided youth ignore him,I dont think it deserves a response from a responsible Indian.

  17. Kelu Janamejaya Says:

    1. A college drop out;

    2. An icon created by the media for their own political ends…

    3. A person who has no understanding of the ground reality…

    4. A person who is more worried about what the future retaliations might be than the present day terrorists activities…

    5. An imbecile who cannot hold his own when questioned impromptu.. runs away from the debate like he did in Ahmedabad when barraged with uncomfortable questions.

    6. A person being latched onto by all the Congressis and their chamchas because left on their own, this bunch of no gooders will find themselves like fish out of water… so for their own survival this family is a must.

    7. A moron who cannot understand that inspite of a hindu majority, we are considered to be a secular country only because of the accomodating nature of the majority community.

    8. A person with a big empty space between the ears who has not understoo why there have been no large scale retaliation from the majority community every time a jihadi terror happens.

Inspite of all these qualities, he is being projected as the future PM of this country, not only by the congress party but even by mainstream media. This being the case, should we Indians be worried about the double standards practiced by this moron??

  18. Patel Says:

I think Hindu terrorism does exist.

  19. babuds Says:

The neta in question, made it clear which among the two he detests more. Unlike Hinduism, Abrahamic religions have no tolerance to other religions.

  20. DailyBread Says:

Rahulji is in safe hands of Diggy Raja and in the very near future the country will be in safe hands of Rahulji. As soniaji says congress me sab ka number aayega, it looks like Rahul-PM and Diggy-HM number is coming. After this, one of the wwwyindoo will create a virtual India on the web, and BJP will rule there. In the meantime lets all prey that the dirty tricks dapartment of congress to prove its theory does not blow up more maseedis.

  21. Leader Says:

hey Mr. Patel, Hindu terrorism was in no existence until others shamelessly killed the tolerance of Hindus. Hinduism preaches peace practice ahimsa.

  22. Tarlemaga Says:

All Terrorists are Hindus, but not all Hindus are Terrorists

Why blame Congress, when the family has distributed two of their family members for the unity and integrity of this Country.

  23. Indu Ramesh Says:

I agree with Kelu Janamejaya 100%

  24. Anonymous Guy Says:

    DailyBread,

    Funny :)

  25. Alok Says:

What Rahul G doesn’t care to mention is that extremists of every hue have been carefully encouraged by the Congress to win a bye-election or two before being dumped so that the Congress can adopt a holier than thou attitude to win the next bye-election.

As far as the Congress is concerned, the biggest threats to the country are not corruption, nepotism, the business-mafia-politician nexus or even Lashkar e Toiba, but the opposition party.

  26. DailyBread Says:

    Indu Madam,

    >agree with Kelu Janamejaya 100%

How does it matter, please get ready to be ruled by Rahulji. He did tell us that he could have become PM at 25 and now that he is 40+ neither we nor he can wait any more. Rahul lao, Desh bachao…

  27. Roshan Says:

Dont think he said anything wrong, when there is open political support for terroism by the party in Opposition, Its shame that there is so much funding and support from Extreme groups like RSS and VHP, just like SIMI. Its really a important issue and very very dangerous because these groups are being supported by Political party within the country. Its the party who let go terrorists like Maulana Masood Azhar and Kargil scam there is no investigation going on against them.

  28. twistleton Says:

Ram’s post said it all. The rest is just hot air. :)

Guys, no use living in denial. Whether we like it or not, only a miracle can save the Gandhi scion from leading a flock of recalcitrant ostriches.

Don’t hate the player, hate the game.

Console yourself with the thought that however little you may relish the idea of RG playing his appointed role, he probably likes it even less. Probably cursing his genetic luck and saying to himself or to his God, “of all the dysfunctional families I had to be born into, this is the one i get?!!? Jeez!”

It is a matter of the sum being greater than its individual parts. Gandhi is bigger than Rahul, Sonia, Rajeev…. Not to mention the lurking ‘death-by-assassination’ legacy. It’s a tough job, would you like to be in his shoes?

Kelu, you are just delusional. :D

  29. DailyBread Says:

    Twistle,

What an irony, the penny finally drops, for all that green gas you have been emitting, you are just another family retainer. Have you counted the number SUVs, miles accumulated in private jets, etc of Prince charming.

    >he probably likes it even less. Probably cursing his genetic luck and saying to himself or to his God

Ya ya, white mans burden and all that…Sir I think even you or Simpleji can do a better job than reluctant Prince

    >Not to mention the lurking ‘death-by-assassination’ legacy. It’s a tough job, would you like to be in his shoes?

If you are asking me I don’t mind trying to fit into those shoes

  30. mounaprasad Says:

This clown coming from a family of college dropouts is really funny and dangerous. After Chamcha Nehru, there is no body in the Nehru Gadhee family who has completed a college course. His dad, mom, grandmom, sister, uncles are all ignoramuses when it comes to education. To boot his mom was a au-pair (read house maid) in england..is most certainly a vatican plant to gradually convert India to Christinity. Now the clown prince is chipping in help mama with his asinine remarks about hindu terrorism…anything to speed up the bidding of the holy poop :)

  31. gaby Says:

This whey-faced idiot with no sense of history is likely to become PM- scarier thought than the reality of Brown’s premiership of the UK!

Leader, if you think out of the Westphalian definition of terrorism what would you call the caste system (especially of the past 300-400 years), Sati murders and indeed the episode of Shambuka in the Ramayana? No, you are right in the sense that the whey-faced fool was not thinking on these lines- he was musing only on electoral returns- the whey-faced dangerous fool. Still arent my examples of terrorism of the majority/ authority in Hinduism- nothing to do with testing the patience of the Hindu. Or are you too as blind as the whey-faced fool.

Tarlemaga, as much as one condemns assassination why do you say the Nehru-Gandhis sacrificed two of their lot for the integrity of the country- they were killed by demons that they unleashed themselves- again ironically, all for electoral returns.

  32. twistleton Says:

    @Daily

    :)
You must be very young. I really appreciate your enthusiasm Daily. Keep it up. Just don’t let it fade away as you grow older. (seriously)

@Mounu – are you saying that people with humble backgrounds should not become leaders?

That the Gandhi family members become politicians by default is a travesty of democracy, is entirely true; that they are INCOMPETENT is also perfectly true; I’ll even accept the “education” arguement; but to hold them in contempt BECAUSE they are not of “irreproachable ton” shows how deep class prejudices run in your mind.

Does a good education and social-blemish-free (if being a nanny can be called a blemish, which according to you it can) background guarantee a good national leader?

  33. twistleton Says:

to answer the question above – most of the voters who will vote for RG don’t know a damn thing about wikileaks or even the internet!

The question is insubstantial as it assumes just about every voter will understand and appreciate the Wikileaks’ well, Leak.

  34. Simple Says:

    Kelu,

    Hmm…still you haven’t got yourself a lawyer?

    1. A college drop out (The best brains are college drop-outs – education boxes your thinking – no wonder all in BJP are within a box. None could think of the revolutionary RTI or the NREGA or the Unique Identity Number Scheme )

    2. An icon created by the media for their own political ends…(Like Advani, like Jaitley, like a 100 other ho hum leaders of your party)

    3. A person who has no understanding of the ground reality…(oh yea? which other leader has gone to the darkest and remotest part of India, by not taking up the minister’s chair, which was his on a platter?)

    4. A person who is more worried about what the future retaliations might be than the present day terrorists activities…(That is the difference between you and him. He is a visionary)

    5. An imbecile who cannot hold his own when questioned impromptu.. runs away from the debate like he did in Ahmedabad when barraged with uncomfortable questions. ( Like Modi, walked out of Karan Thapar’s show – will you use the same adjectives to him)

    6. A person being latched onto by all the Congressis and their chamchas because left on their own, this bunch of no gooders will find themselves like fish out of water… so for their own survival this family is a must. (BJP too needs teh Sangh parivar – else their very existence will cease. they will be like fish out of water – so for their own survival this family (parivar ) is a must.

    7. A moron who cannot understand that inspite of a hindu majority, we are considered to be a secular country only because of the accomodating nature of the majority community. ( hahaha,,,this is a delusion, tell me where has he said he cannot understand what you said??)

    8. A person with a big empty space between the ears who has not understoo why there have been no large scale retaliation from the majority community every time a jihadi terror happens. ( stop personal attacks calling him imbecile and moron, shows your lack of civility, shows your background……who caught kasab? who let off kandahar hijackers? who helped kill terrorism in punjab? who killed rajeev? who killed indira? clearly, terrorists hate gandhi family because gandhi family acts tough on terrorists – i have given you proof,…..)

Inspite of all these qualities, he is being projected as the future PM of this country, not only by the congress party but even by mainstream media. This being the case, should we Indians be worried about the double standards practiced by this moron?? ( Show me one comment of his where he says he will be the future PM)

None of your points have proof or is objectively valid.

  35. Simple Says:

Gaby ‘s shallow rants are devoid of any logic or sanity.

If she thinks Congress created LTTE, then she obviously does not know her history.

Congress was tough on LTTE, that is why it eliminated Rajeev Gandhi

The latest reports suggest that LTTE is regrouping and are planning to finish MMS, among others.

This clearly shows LTTE and otehr terrorist organisations hate Congress.

    Why?
Becase cong is hard on terrorists. As opposed to BJP which is soft on terrorists.

  36. DailyBread Says:

    >Becase cong is hard on terrorists. As opposed to BJP which is soft on terrorists.

The electorate has asked BJP to play the role of opposition and MMS was asked to protect the country and its citizens/assets. Instead of doing all that, what we hear from Govt. is smartass comments like above. The country is getting tired of the cynical games UPA is playing by communalising fight against terrorism and trivialising peoples demand for action against corruption. Election time rhetoric is good only for elections; governance demands some action in the national/voters interest.
Surprising with the kind of communalism/corruption in the govt, where are Arif Mohammed Khans & VP Singhs of this decade, where is Jan Morcha? Not a single whistle blower? Not a single resignation from govt/party?

    ***

    Twistle,

    >You must be very young.

yeah Dude, young like Rahulji and BTW, I aslo won a ovarian lottery ;-)

    >Just don’t let it fade away as you grow older

Thank you thank you for the advise Sirji….

  37. Raj Says:

Rahul is better than the Pakistani Advani….

Atleast he would have not let go Maulana masood azhar Pakistan to kill many more people in India.

Atleast he wont go to homeland and praise Jinnah.

Atleast he wont divide India based on religion

Atleast he wont promote corruption like Advani who let go Yeddy.

Im glad that he is not a Advani.

  38. mounaprasad Says:

    >>If she thinks Congress created LTTE, then she obviously does not know her history.
Congress was tough on LTTE, that is why it eliminated Rajeev Gandhi>>

Which cave were you living in all along…please go read some history of LTTE and its support by GOI under Indira and Tamilnadu Govt under MGR before you post your comments. Gaby is right when she says Caangress has been consistently supporting terrorism for its selfish ends.

    **

    Twistleton,

I have nothing against an uneducated person coming leadins the country if he/she is honest and capable. My grouse against Gandy family is that it is undeducated, easily manipulatable and dangerous and works with ulterior motives that are detrimental to the nations interest and still pose as Tyaagamurthy’s. Look at the 2G scam, all along Raja was being defended by Caangress, suddenly when it is evident that it cannot be done for ever, CBI is going after Raja and DMK, thus taking the heat off the Gaandy family and the bench warmer prime minister. Same this happened in the Oil for Food Scam, when Caangress was implicated. Natwar Singh was made the scapegoat and asked to hold the bucket when the numero uno family walked away with the loot.

    **

    >>None could think of the revolutionary RTI or the NREGA or the Unique Identity Number Scheme>>

NREGA is gravy train for the caangress and Photo Id card was first mooted by Advani…stop lying through your teeth.

  39. Vinay Says:

    Simple:

“If she thinks Congress created LTTE, then she obviously does not know her history.

Congress was tough on LTTE, that is why it eliminated Rajeev Gandhi”

This is utter nonsense. Please argue with facts, and don’t distort history. The congress was solely responsible for the propping up and empowerment of the LTTE. Because of this, lots of Sri Lankans hate India even today.

Speak the truth, people following this blog are not morons.

    ***

And Simple: Also, the blame for the Khalistan business, which was one of the most shameful chapters in modern Indian history, can also be laid at the door of the Congress to a large extent. So, be careful with gloating about “killing terrorism in Punjab”. The Congress has committed enough shit in their time, and even a fool knows that, so stop defending the indefensible.

  40. Aghast Says:

    Dailybread

You owe your bread to the Congress. The economy is shining at unprecedented levels. Your income has risen. Your income tax has come down with every year. D

MMS has made India the second fastest growing economy in the world. Under NDA, India was nowhere in the reckoning. How can anybody stand in comparison to a PM who is an economics scholar? No PM can come anywhere near him.

Karnataka is the worst implementator of NREGA. Shame on such politicians who do not want to ensure the success of a revolutionary scheme, just because it is the brainchild of MMS.

And what scapegoat are you talking about? Where is the proof that MMS or Gandhi families were involved in 2G? Stop spreading such rumours.

It is tantamount to saying that Ramchandra Gowda, Hallappa, Katta and the rest were made scapegoats to save Nitin Gadkari and co.

What a silly, froth in the mouth argument, without any logic or sense.

Gaby is just a pseudo internet commentator, who has no guts to take on bullets. Instead, she wails from the anonymity of the net, she has the gall to take on Gandhis who fell to the bullets of extremists.

    Shame on such cowardly elements.

  41. gaby Says:

Aghast my friend- we are all truly aghast. I am not a pseudo-internet commentator- I comment on the real internet!!The only Gandhi who fell to the bullet of an extremist was MK Gandhi in 1948. Indira and Rajiv were killed by the mad tigers they tried to ride. I do not owe my bread to anyone- the politicians of all hues owe their livelihoods to me and indeed all of us- why do you have to be so obliged to political parties or do you love having a brown nose!

India’s economic growth in the recent past is largely the policies of PVN and MMS- the Nehru-Gandhis did nothing to initiate this. True that Nehru laid the foundations of a modern technocracy.

I know the Congress acolytes will start frothing at the mouth and like true fanatics will lose sight of objective and double their efforts- calling me names in the process.

BTW what about my question about Hindu terrorism !

  42. Simple Says:

In other words, the pseudo educated views of Vinay, Gaby and the others, seem to be saying that Congress PM’s deserve to be killed because they created LTTE and Bhindranwale.

Going by these ‘froth-in-the-mouth’ commentators swarming the net, the mothers of all criminals deserve to be killed because these mothers created the criminals.

    This is stupidity, Gaby style.

  43. twistleton Says:

Indira Gandhi may have died at the hands of the monster she created, but you can’t deny the lady had guts.

A leader should be able to take bold decisions, right or wrong. A wishy-washy leader is more dangerous for this country than even a dictator. No offence to our PM but he often comes across as having no spine.

As for the LTTE, it is not of Congress making, it is an ethnic conflict between the Sinhalese and the Tamil groups, with Sri Lankan Tamils being marginalized increasingly (even today, when recently the tamil version of the Sri Lankan anthem was scrapped). The blunder Rajiv Gandhi did commit was to interfere and take sides by sending IPK forces to Sri Lanka. That sealed his fate. The Tamils saw it as a betrayal and took their revenge.

Sometimes it is better to sit on the fence.

    **

On second thought, maybe MMS is just the soft mask of a very hard State…

  44. twistleton Says:

    Gaby
i agree with you on said terrorizers. Let’s not classify them as Hindu or non-Hindu.

Again of all the Congress failures the biggest and the most criminal one is that in 60 YEARS they have not led our country into modernity. And the right-wingers have inadvertently or knowingly helped them along in the regression.

  45. DailyBread Says:

    Aghast Sir,

    >You owe your bread to the Congress

Lol, I guess you are a distinguished alumni of Baba Bhajan Vidyamandir

    >The economy is shining at unprecedented levels. Your income has risen. Your income tax has come down with every year. D

How and where these boiler plates are distributed, all of you seem to have the same line. If you dont mind, can you please say something original..

    >a PM who is an economics scholar? No PM can come anywhere near him.

One more decade lost, i.e. 2005-2014. History will not be very kind to MMS.

    >Karnataka is the worst implementator of NREGA. Shame on such politicians who do not want to ensure the success of a revolutionary scheme, just because it is the brainchild of MMS.

This is a boiler plate of panchyathi election speech. Print million copies and distribute in all non UPA ruled states. And also be careful when giving credits(brainchild of MMS), if Ahmedji comes to know about this your father will be dropped from the important post he holds in party/govt.

  46. Simple Says:

    Ms. Gaby

Life sustains on quid pro quo. Politicians owe their seat of power to we the people. We owe them whatever good has fallen by our side, thanks to their policies.

MMS was responsible for economic growth you say.

Who chose MMS? You can impute a hundred reasons why Sonia chose MMS, the point is she had the gumption to chose a scholar instead of a politician.

If Cong did not eliminate Punjab terrorism, who did? Uma Bharti? or Yediyurappa? or Vajpayee?

The whole world knows the truth, except completely blinded by hatred Cong bashers on the net.

And no, i am not a cong acolyte, i go by pure facts, you go by your own delusional hatred. as usual zero facts support your thesis.

  47. Ankit Says:

Rahul Gandhi is exhibit A for what happens when you are born with multiple diamond studded spoons in your mouth but never manage to get an education. This 40 year old man with a receding hairline is quite a piece of work!

  48. DailyBread Says:

    >And no, i am not a cong acolyte, i go by pure facts

Simple Sir, this is the classic “kivi mele hoovu”. Dont tell me that you do not belong to babalog gang.

  49. karihaida Says:

Mr Simple says ” Life sustains on quid pro quo. Politicians owe their seat of power to we the people. We owe them whatever good has fallen by our side, thanks to their policies. ”

Makes we wonder if everybody should really be allowed to vote.

Mr Simple, this is democracy. The politicians are “representatives” and they work for you and me. We owe “them” nothing, because it is you and me that are making the policies. We can get any policy changed if enough people get off their backsides and do the needful.

  50. twistleton Says:

of course, unless he is in a classroom he is not being educated…

you guys are in serious need of a field trip :)

  51. Simple Says:

    Ankit

Varun Gandhi is what kind of exhibit for becoming an MP from BJP? What other than Gandhi family credentials made BJP give him a ticket?

And, besides, your poor physical attacks on Gandhi Rahul, do you have anything of substance to say?

  52. gaby Says:

Selective abstraction is another aspect of fanatics. The Nehru-Gandhi acolytes dont want to give any credit to PVN- the only scholar-visionary from the Congress( never mind he was as corrupt as any other Congressman) till absolutely forced to do so. It was PVN that first let MMS demolish the licence raj set up by the ballsy, arrogant and slightly stupid Indira.

Assassination is always to be condemned. Knowing the historical background such as Bhindranwale, Operation Goldstar, IPKF, Valvettiturai etc makes the construct of the killing more understandable and possibly prevent such situations. Instead of learning from experience all fanatics of all political hues- saffron, green as well as the indeterminate murky grey of the Congress just call sensible people like me names!!!

  53. Goldstar Says:

    Simple,
    >>And no, i am not a cong acolyte,

Of course, we believe you ;-) !!

  54. Kelu Janamejaya Says:

There seems to be a hallucinatory streak in the minds of the Congress spokespersons and their supporters!!!

Tom Vadakannan says people of this country should be eternally grateful to the congress for the passing the RTI bill, when in reality, the bill was given a shape during the Atal ji’s period of rule.

Aghast says we all should bow at the altar of Congress for giving us such good economic performance. The same set of chamchas will never lose an opportunity to credit Gujarati people for the sterling economic progress shown by that state since Narendra Modi has taken over as the CM of the state!

Simple Sir says that we should forever be slaves under the Congress because Indira G and Rajiv G were assassinated by the demons they created. Never mind the fact that the demons they created not only killed the creators but also wreaked havoc on citizens of this country.

Raj says that because Advani was born in Sindh, which was very much a part of the then undivided India, he is less trustworthy than Rahul G who was born to an Italian mother who insisted on retaining her Italian passport for a long long time….. we still don’t know if Rahul G holds an Italian passport!!!

Whoa people!!! What a bunch we have got here????

This is not their problem though, I must say. This is the way congress thinks and acts.

For 53-54 years out of the 63 years of post independence period, they were in power. Yet whenever something goes wrong, they point fingers at the five odd years of BJP ruled period. Even in the present 2G scam, they are saying that BJP government did this first come first serve method of telecom allotment, we are simply following their rules, why penalize us?? Can anything be more shameful than this?? And we have a whole plethora of people who are supporting this kind of brazen argument.

We have a PM who shuts his mouth when the parliament session is in progress. And miraculously opens it in a party forum to state that he is open to be questioned by the PAC if it wishes to do so!!! What prevented him from saying the same when the parliament session was in progress, no one knows. For that matter, no one knows why he was satisfied only in writing letters after letters to Raja while he looted this country!!!

Let us look at a practical sceanario… there is this Inspector of Police, who closes his eyes and repeatedly says no crime is being committed when infact, a gang rape is happening right in front of his police station. Later, when this incident comes to public light, he goes on to say that he is willing to appear before any committee to explain his inaction…. What do you call such an inspector??? Our PM today finds himself in the same situation when it comes to 2G Scam.

And what can we say about the clown prince??? He repeatedly talks about aam aadmi and the divide between Bharat and India. Yet when the prices of essential commodities have soared to unprecedented heights, because of which, the aam aadmi is actually suffering, he is nowhere in the picture to stem the rot!!! When every downward revision of petrol prices were considered to be the gift of Nun to the nation, I wonder why people are silent about the gifting ability of Nun when the prices are hiked!!!

Ofcourse, we know the answer. The culprit is NDA. They did not take enough measures to ensure that Onions were cultivated in enough land to meet the needs of the people. The price rise happened during their period of rule too. They did not take enough action to prevent the price rise happening for the next hundred years……

I am sure, this line of thought will find many takers amongst the people who support Congress.

    ***

    Sri Simple sir,

You wrote two lines stating that “let the guilty be hanged” ( which is your favourite saying) on your scoop on the Bihar Treasury Scam..

Yet to know your enlightened views on the rice scam sir…..

Eagerly awaiting to know your views on this one.

    ***

    WE THE STUPID.

No, no, this is not a new show hosted by Burkha memsaab.. we should be calling ourselves like this. Why? Because….

Did you know that amongst all the terrorist outfits that are currently operating in the world (yes, including the Al Qaeda), the most intellignet, the most cunning and the most ruthless terrorist outfits are based out of our own backyard!!!! And we didn’t even recognise this. Thanks to the fantastic “couple” Diggy Raja and Rahul G, we are made aware of this fact. So we should be calling ourselves STUPID.

See, when Pakistan trained militants landed in India, went on a shooting spree to kill hundreds of civilians, policemen etc., they were not really acting on the orders issued by their masters in Islamabad. The real strings behind the puppet show was RSS!!!

How so, you may ask?? After Sri Karkare took over the investigation of Malegaon blasts and keyed in on a couple of activists who had ties with RSS, the big bosses of RSS got jittery. They immediately contacted Dawood I to carry out this terrorist activity with the sole intention of getting rid of Sri Karkare.

Dawood I, delighted at this offer from RSS, jumped at it. Using his good offices with the Pak govt, he contacted Lashkar E Tayyiba to chalk out the plan. ISI helped LET to train young men in the art of warfare and ten such young men were sent on a suicidal mission to India to kill Karkare. However, they had one problem. If they directly go and kill Sri Karkare, eyes would pop out and fingers would be pointed at the HINDU terrorist organisation.

Therefore to protect the honour of these hindu terrorists, the men from LeT killed a few innocent civilians before killing Sri Karkare.

How do we know all these?? In that telephone call made by Sri Karkare to Diggy Raja ( or was it the other way round??? Hell, leave it, who in the world is going to bother about who called whom as long as we can all take pleasure in the cunningness of RSS), Diggy Raja inferred all these points.

He later on went to tutor Rahul G about his findings. It is based on this tutoring of Diggy Raja that Rahul G went and whined before the US Ambassador that he is worried about the rise of hindu terrorists.

Unfortunately for Rahul G, this whining of his got published and backfired very badly. He summoned his teacher and said ” How dare you cook stories like this? Should the whole country know how stupid I am?”.

Diggy Raja, who was dreaming of becoming HM when his student becomes PM hit the panic button. He said give me one chance, I will prove my theory”.

A couple of days later, in the Congress party plenary session, Diggy Raja got his opportunity to prove his theory of how Hindu Terrorists organised the attack in Mumbai and were far more dangerous than the Islamic terrorists. He compared hindu Terrorists with Nazis!!!

People, please dont laugh at this immaturity. Remember, we are talking about Congress here, so any kind of statement goes. Never mind the fact that Nazis were instrumental in killing more than 6 million jews and the Hindu Terrorists had not even managed to accomplish .00015% of what Nazis did. (Malegaon blasts killed 6, samjautha blast killed 70 & Mecca Masjid blast killed about 14). This was not what he intended to show.

Immediately after his statement, Israel issued a press release which said Hindu Terrorists cannot be compared with Nazis. Now there was a smug look on Diggy Raja!!! He cried ” Look who is supporting Hindu Terrorists??? Israel! Don’t we all know that for Muslims, enemy number 1 is Israel and its Jews??? Wasn’t there a similar story as to how Israeli Jews were the ones behind the attack on World Trade Center and how the blame got shifted to Al Qaeda????”

Now Rahul G is a contented man. He no longer doubts his teacher and together they are scheming to tutor us, THE STUPID INDIANS, more such theories.

( With due apologies to M J Akbar for getting inspired by his editorial while writing this post)

  55. Vinay Says:

    Simple:

“In other words, the pseudo educated views of Vinay, Gaby and the others, seem to be saying that Congress PM’s deserve to be killed because they created LTTE and Bhindranwale.”

You are a Chutiya. I never said said that they deserve to be killed. I was just responding to your asinine comment that Congress had nothing to do with breeding of terrorists.

But now, when I come to think of it, why should they not have been tried and hanged for their crimes? The people who propped up those organizations are responsible for thousands of deaths, broken families, maimed and injured people, and so on. Why, pray, should they not be held responsible for their actions?

Forget individual deaths, the reckless actions actually threatened the integrity of entire countries. Ideally, they should have had to stand in court in front of the people of India!

But you are still talking the same old shit about Congress eliminating Punjab terrorism. Sure, they did, but I fail to see why they should be praised for it, when they were actually responsible for starting it in the first place. How about, I punch you around till your nose and cheekbones are a mangled jumble of blood and bones, and then drive you to the hospital, and also pay for all your expenses down to the last rupee. By your same logic with which you are licking congress c*nt, you ought to be grateful to me for ending your misery, don’t you think?

Giving credit for liberalization and economic growth to Congress is at least reasonable and defensible to some extent. But really, it will irritate anyone when people like you start defending the indefensible, and talk nonsense without accepting faults which need to be accepted.

“Indira Gandhi may have died at the hands of the monster she created, but you can’t deny the lady had guts.”

Well, I concede that. The 1971 war went a long way in ensuring India’s long term security. Just imagine present day Bangladesh with nuclear missiles pointing at Calcutta!

But that doesn’t mean people will keep quiet about her numerous follies and catastrophic actions. The heyday of Khalistan terrorism was India’s most difficult and most shameful period. Indira Gandhi also screwed the economy over in more ways than one, by inappropriate economic policy. And who can forget the Emergency – the only blemish in India’s democratic rule. Who can forget the coterie of yes-men she caused to blossom around her?

In the final analysis, she did more harm than good to India during her tenure. The 1971 war and the Pokhran explosion were the only big-ticket things that she can justifiably boast of.

  58. Super Nan Maga Says:

I thank those lucky stars for not having the other Rahul (mahajan) the supposed BJP scion in the fray .

  59. Doddi Buddi Says:

    Vinay,

Brilliant reply to Simple. I hope he gets it this time!

  60. Simple Says:

    Kelu

NDA’s contribution was warmly hugging the man who started Kargil war. It built few roads here and there, but most of the time, NDA spent time in reciting poetry. And making money. While our economy sank to the pits going as low as 4%. Income was low, income tax was high, agriculture growth was abysmal, tele density was a pathetic 14% as compared to 62% now.

All these are facts. Nothing is an assumption. Where as, you assume that RTI is an achievement of NDA. This Kejriwal guy was the one who diligently pushed the RTI under Sonia Gandhi’s presidentship of Congress. Sonia in turn, asked the government to implement the RTI.

Here is the link to prove that it was UPA which took the lead in passing RTI. I will give 1000 links to prove that RTI is an achievement of UPA.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Right_to_Information_Act

While NDA was hemming and hawing, it was MMS’s Congress which passed the bill in parliament.

    2. Gujarat was prosperous even before Modi came in. India was not prosperous when NDA was in power. But it became an economic giant when UPA came to power.

    That.

That is the difference between UPA and NDA.

    3. I am not holding any brief for Congress’s failures in their 55 years. I am only comparing NDA with UPA. So please save your tantrums.

    4. Whether India created Bhindranwale or not, the fact is she had the guts to crush it. And paid for it with her life. Rajiv had the guts to send indian army to Lanka inspite of opposition from Tamil Nadu politicians. He paid for it with his life.

That is the guts shown by Congress of the past. They paid for it with their lives because terrorists did not like these strong actions.

This is a fact. Everything else is delusional.

    5. Kelu and Co is directly insulting the Supreme Court of India. Kelu and Co is directly insulting a very senior member of BJP called Murli Manohar Joshi, who heads the PAC and our learned PM has said he will appear before PAC.

    That.

That is accountability UPA style. It is a heroic and historic first for any PM to offer to appear before a parliamentary committee. As opposed to BJP CM’s – who are forever running away from facing the battlefield.

Supreme court has ordered that the 2G scam be investigated by CBI and that it will monitor it regularly.

When a neutral body like the Supreme court itself is monitoring the scam, what purpose will a JPC serve, which has no investigative powers?

After the JPC goes through its processes, what next? The JPC will run to the CBI or the Court – both of which are already in progress.

    6. I have already given you links to rice and treasury scams so please go see it in other thread.

    7. UPA took immediate step to ban export of Onions.

    8. Terrorism of all sorts need to be condemned. That is what the Congress has maintained. Unlike BJP which frees Kandahar militants, Congress catches Paki militants like Kasab.

That. That is the difference between UPA and NDA.

    Vinay.

    1. Shows your background when you use words like Chutiya. You are neither civil nor humane. All you can do is use personal abuses – when you are confronted with logic and indisputable facts.

I do not wish do dignify you by reverting to your third grade comments.

As for the rest of the supporters of BJP:

Your govt in karnataka actually uses a dead farmer in their local BJP ads – the farmer is seen saying that the BJP government changed his life.

Sure it did. It killed him.

Not one pipsqueak from all the BJP cheerleaders on this forum.

  61. Bengalooru Haida Says:

Whatay clamour I say! So whatever this guy says becomes news or what? Then people say he is a non-entity and purely a media creation. Where’s the reality? Is he too big a fish or a small fry? Confusing times.

Now that most of the churumuri faithful have offered the rupees and more, my humble 50 paise on this :

He is a callow fellow who has got the break into the big league purely because of the family. But for the family tag, he would probably have ended up in a London bank dealing with pension accounts of some dowagers. So really there’s no need to get into apocalyptic fits on what this guy with simplistic theories has to say. And our man does say lots of things like a parrot which hardly make much sense.

But for a change, I don’t see anything wrong with what he is saying. This is precisely what many of my friends of the deep saffron hue say all the time privately – ‘If all Hindus get united, in no time we can show ‘them’ the place’. That’s loaded with euphemisms. You know it’s not a touristy statement for sight seeing. The ‘place’ is mostly Jannat/Jahannum or in the very least Pakistan.

What’s left unsaid is the means that will be adapted to do that job. But does it take great insights to understand what those means could be? Surely not satyagraha? That’s the beauty of numbers. A roused and heated 85+ crore can just steamroll 15+ crore. Isn’t that what Rahul baba is saying?

  62. DailyBread Says:

    >So really there’s no need to get into apocalyptic fits on what this guy with simplistic theories has to say.

Sir, his simplistic theories secularly get converted to govt. policy overnight. You should solicit views on this from a person called Navin Patnaik.

    >That’s the beauty of numbers. A roused and heated 85+ crore can just steamroll 15+ crore

Wow, what a theory, what a great logic. What do you suggest; we import folks from other conutries or purge 85 to 15, or a demographic churn till it becomes 50, 50.

  63. Vinay Says:

    Simple:

“I do not wish do dignify you by reverting to your third grade comments. ”

Maybe that’s because you have nothing to say, knowing fully well that I am right – the congress leaders of that period deserve to be condemned for outright reckless adventurism. Why are you not willing to accept that well-known fact? No one on this page has said that the Gandhis deserved to be assassinated, but at the very least, people ought to have the intellectual honesty to condemn those actions which deserve to be condemned!

Sri Simple Sir, this is a Government of India website, unlike the wikipediea link you posted. Log on to this and read the first few lines. You will know the history of RTI Act.

Sri Simple Sir says that government “PROMPTLY” banned export of onions. Yesterday, Sri Simple Sir’s TV Counterpart Abhishek Manu Singhvi put his foot in the mouth when he said that rise in the price of onions in December is a regular yearly phenomenon and no one should read too much into it….So the question is, when the government knew that there would be a price rise in December, why did they allow the export of onions in the first place??? Abhishek had no answer… tried to wriggle out of the question… lets see what Sri Simple Sir comes out with!!!

This thread is about the asinine utterings of clown prince… not a place to discuss the UPA’s other blunders….

  65. twistleton Says:

    @BH
no, maybe yes inadvertently. Too much of what you say is construed.

    @ Simple
i’m with you. The truth is the Congress is good at being bad, and the BJP can’t even do that whole-heartedly :D

    @Vinay
you stand a chance of being taken seriously IF you do not resort to cheap shots.

  66. Vinay Says:

    twistleton:

Constant imbecilic comments deserve such replies. By the way, my ‘cheap shots’ were directed at Simple. How about answering some of the questions I posed to YOU? And maybe some of those I posed to Simple too?

  67. DailyBread Says:

    DailyB,

    >>Wow, what a theory, what a great logic. What do you suggest; we import folks from other conutries or purge 85 to 15, or a demographic churn till it becomes 50, 50.

Heck No sir! I don’t claim copyright to any of these. As of now i am not under any such illusion or delusion. If you missed, this is what my ultra-saffron friends suggest. That a united 85+ crore worked-up Hindus can take ‘them’ (15+ crore in India) on a guided tour beyond the realm of life or Wagah border – whichever is nearer. It’s as if gullible Gandhi is echoing these thoughts.

All I said was both these types – my friends and Rahul Baba- seem to think it is feasible purely from a numerical superiority perspective – 85>15. Is it realistic? Nope. Should one get worked up on this as Rahul Baba seems to be? Nope. Do I want it? Nope.

  69. Doddi Buddi Says:

Bangalore Lad, One should get worked up because Rahul
Dufferji is seeing phantoms everywhere. When you think about it his

  77. Simple Says:

In 1998, Vajpayee announced that a law to enact RTI would be passed – it did not materialize.

In the year 2000, the freedom of information bill was tabled in the parliament. After debate, it was referred to the Parliamentary Standing Committee of Home Affairs for review.

The freedom of Information Bill was passed by the parliament as the freedom of information act 2002. However, it did not enter into force as the then NDA govt. was not interested in issuing the necessary notification.

The UPA constituted the National Advisory Council after it came to power. This Council included Aruna Roy, Jean Drez – who consistently put pressure (along with Kejriwal) to pass the bill and enact a law. In response to this, the parliament passed the bill and the president of India consented the act on 15 June 2005 and implementation was started on 12th October 2005

While NDA govt, talked, UPA walked the talk.

    That.

That. Is the difference between Cong and BJP.

Here are several links from govt sites, media and BJP website itself to prove that RIGHT TO INFORMATION BILL WAS passed on 15 june 2005. In fact, the bill is known as RTI act 2005 !

Show me a single newspaper clipping or cutting that shows that RTI came into effect when NDA was in power.

People like you spread rumors out of insane jealousy that UPA has revolutionary achievements to its credit. While NDA was busy creating poems.
