‘A magic, moving, living part of the very earth’

Stillness and quiet on one side, and noise and tumult on the other. That’s the Cauvery at the Krishnaraja Sagar (KRS) dam, as viewed through a fish-eye lens, on Tuesday, after all the sluice gates were opened. (Click on the picture to view a larger frame.)

    Hope KRS looks so picturesque like this. I have read and heard that the gardens are not what they used to be.

    But we need to desilt the dam so that the storage capacity reflects the exact level. But then, will the dam take that additional load?

    Will this only store water for Mandya and then to TN or is it ever going to hale mysuru and chamarajnagar who are the the most deserved?
