Just one question I’m dying to ask the BJP MLAs

As the naked lust for power of BJP legislators enters an even more naked phase, with the caste pot being brazenly stirred by assorted mutt heads, the budget session of the Karnataka legislative assembly gets off to an empty start at the Vidhana Soudha, in Bangalore on Monday.

Churumuri is acting like a brhamin mouthpiece here.
naked lust for power – what about Nehru and family – is it covered lust for power?

It’s nice to see delhi high command to lick bengloor boots at last.

  3. chidu22 Says:

Sorry state of affairs indeed. High time the people of karnataka come up with regional party to save the state. The politicians in Karnataka should stop sucking upto national parties, its hurt Karnataka immeasurably without much benefit for the state. The central parties have looted the state to fill up their party coffers, thanks to our state politicians who have sold their souls. The last politician of integrity the state has seen is Dr S.Nijalingappa, the state did not support him when he revolted against the Indira congress and a similar fate befell Dr Veerendra Patil when he refused to tow Rajiv’s diktat. Unfortunately for our state the backstabbers are galore- Devraj Urs, Gundu Rao, Bangarappa,, HDD?HDK etc, who have caused immense hurt to the state.
BJP which rode on the Veershaiva vote bank ,tasted power for the first time, was tricked by the old foxes- Congress and HDD, not to mention the dubious role of Mr Santhosh Hegde in the whole affair. The current crisis is a conspiracy of the seasoned campaigners ,Congress and HDD. The Mutts are only here to prevent the disintegration of Veershaiva Unity. If the Mutts are benefitted by the ruling BJP then its worth it, the mutts do carry out a lot of philantrophy. Compare this against the loot of the state by one family and oldest party which have cost the state.
We need a regional party to save kannadigas.

Politics is the last resort for the scoundrels – GB Shaw
The last resort for the political scoundrels are ‘resorts’ outside Bangalore !

  5. concerned man Says:

It is internal BJP party issue. The best thing would be to call a legislature partyu meeting and let the legislators elect the chief minister. Whoever has the most legislators, should be the CM. Everyone else should falll in line or stand inline.

  6. harkol Says:

I keep seeing comments that make it seem as though Opposing Yeddy is a Brahmin Conspiracy. I also see messages that having a regional party is the solution for all ills.

I am wondering if in this fractious debate, does anyone think about what our elected representatives are bound to do? Represent a caste/Community/language?

Or are they to legislate to ensure there is a conducive eco-system for faster growth?

Questions to our MLAs: What is your primary objective? How does it matter to you who is the CM or who is a minister? Where are policy debates instead of who becomes what? Why do you bring in caste/religion in to the debate of what needs to be done for ‘entire’ population of the state?

  7. Dheerendragopal Says:

Chidu22 , very nice summarization of karnataka politics .
I wish yediyurappa come back as CM and the uselss Sadanand Gowda remained . gowda should have stepped out once Yeddi was cleared by HC . The kind of development activities that Yeddi and his genius cabinet collegues can only be measured by touring the state and witnessing first hand .Yeddi is a shining beacon an a role model for all those who want to practise poilitics in public life . Text books should be written in his honour and taught in schools the values that yeddi has showered upon the state for the last few years .

  9. sanjeeva Says:

Lust for power – Is it confined only to BJP? Whether the other parties are just ‘serving the nation and the people’!? Different characters, different situations, different storylines, different times and different drama companies,….. Purpose is same.

  10. harkol Says:

Concerned man: Is BJP a private company for it to be a ‘internal issue’? When a registered political party runs for public office, all it does is a ‘public issue’ not an ‘internal issue’.

By that token, if they choose to make Abdul Karim Telgi their national president, it’ll still be an ‘internal issue’! It is absurd such a term is used and is accepted to shut others down!

Something is internal party matter, only if it has no or negligible public significance or impact. 60+ legislators, bunking assembly and camping in a 7star resort can’t be termed an internal matter!!

  11. V K Patil Says:

Yeddy is a hero.. a fighter till the end.pls dislodge yourself from the clutches of RSS & BJP, you have all our support

  12. sunil Says:

If a legislature party is called, then whoever has more money they will win. Again the same old guys will come.

Honest Guys like Suresh kumar will be never elected.

  13. Vinay Says:

    bengloor a.k.a. Arivu:

You are proving yet again that you are a stupid casteist fellow full of shit.

If you feel so strongly, encourage the Kannadigas to vote for a regional party – form one of your own if you don’t like JD(S). Why encourage all kinds of vile crap just for the perverse pleasure of seeing some random party’s random high command officials squirming?

No work gets done, every development activity gets into limbo, and the losers are the people in our state. Stupid idiots like Arivu can then jerk off in the pleasure that someone sitting in faraway Delhi might be losing a few hours of his sleep.

  14. Angry Young Man Says:

What question can you put to people who have sold their souls to the devil?

  15. chanakya Says:

All of you, aren’t you ashamed for your behavior?

  16. Vinay Says:

Unfortunately, from the past 1 year or so, churumuri has been besieged by casteist scum. Any criticism, any statement, any comment – is given a caste angle by these assholes.

These are the rascals who are responsible for casteism in India. Instead of ignoring one’s caste, these people want to reinforce it by bringing caste into every discussion.

This nincompoop “bengloor” a.k.a. “Arivu” is one of them. There is another fellow called “Emptymind” in the same category.

These people are a living example of why India is not able to completely shake off casteism.

  17. DailyBread Says:

    >Text books should be written in his honour and taught in schools the values that yeddi has showered upon the state for the last few years .

I agree. Great men like Laloo Prasad and Rajiv Gandhi are already part of our school curriculums.

    >Yeddy is a hero.. a fighter till the end.pls dislodge yourself from the clutches of RSS & BJP, you have all our support

Yeddy indeed is a hero. He can do a ShankarSing Vaghela and Congress will be very happy to make him a chief minister. You require 1000 crores to start a regional party; I don’t think Yeddy has that kind of money.

    >It is internal BJP party issue.

No doubt about it. All others should refrain from commenting on internal matters of BJP or for that matter internal affairs of any political party.

  18. bengloor Says:

i know where you are coming from.
i am not here to follow delhi constitution. i believe in administration of awareness.

the scoundrel politics of karnataka where
” a record 9 times winner Kharge is happy to make his daughter congress pawn”
” a 79 year old dying smk acting and reading portuguese after making bengloor unliveable to any civilized kannadiga”
” a ‘ahinda’ siddarama falling to congress money ”
” a lgowda (g silent) teaching his son to attend ifthar parties and keeping 3 wives ”
    etc etc

a gulte software engineer ravi reddy and a converted muslim pasha cannot take over the awareness of kannadiga. let me make it clear to all you 9-5 kannada brahmins who crowd other people under pseudo nationalism speaking their lingo.

and never ever speak something on caste before fixing nehruvian family at delhi. the traitors cannot be tolerated .
this delhi defeat will teach lots to traitors. i would have been happier if gadkari came to bengloor and things were decided at bengloor palace .

Mallya Ambani Tata Radia Khoda Raja Lalit Modi Reddy- these are the scoundrels who will liberate the economy! my foot.

if you can think sensibly and if you have come out of your brahmin genes – a free thinker then you must answer why
    * sheela dixit is still ruling delhi for record 3 times.
    * how bjp suddenly lost udupi/chikmaglur
    * how porngates happen only in Gujarat and Karnataka . how press is bought by congress to record those moments.
    * how sonia never have to leave janpath
    * how a mature filthy rich widow’s celibacy becomes important than the total of india’s total rapes murders and harassment,
    * how a malformed americanized brahmin face is still the belief of the indian culture.

i am all for regionalism infact karnataka is the only country i know in this malformed corrupt india.

I am not favouring yediyurappa – because there was not one moment he was out of Reddy clutches and delhi clutches due to simple majority.
to give direct tussle with delhi as alternate centre was far out of question.
but yes now he has shown some awareness. but yes again going to delhi he has faltered a bit.

do mail me . our goals are similar. parties are things of past. we need to build a strong constitution and administration.
bhandara dot kannada at gmail dot com.

  19. Deepak Says:

Thanks to all these shenanigans, BJP has zero chance of getting a majority in the next election. Only scenario they can come to power is for DVS to tie up with HDK and run another coalition. Else we will have Siddu as CM and Revu as DCM!! God Save Karnataka!!

  20. Proud Indian turned Sad Indian Says:

Karnataka is in the hands of the most corrupt politicians the state has ever seen.

To top it, it has some MLA’s and ministers with loose morals( the party which stands for Hindutva and clean image). I do not know how the BJP leadership is not able to see this and clean up. It will affect its image. Caste politics at its worst. People are turning blind eye to what is happening as some of them belong to their caste. It’s ok if the people they have voted to power are involved in watching porn clips when the assembly is discussing some serious issue. It is also fine if they are involved in rape cases. It does not matter any more. It really makes me sad that we the people of karnataka have voted them to power thinking they will bring about some good changes. But all I’m seeing is it is getting worse. So what ideals is BJP bringing in?

How can one selfish person make the BJP central leadership team lick his boots? How can the legislators black mail the central leaders regarding their presence when the budget is being presented. Is it not their responsibility to be in the assembly? Why have they taken up the responsibility of being a social servant?

Let us stop thinking from caste and religion perspective and the mutt heads should keep away from this. Else it will send the signal that they are mere business heads rather than spiritual leaders who defend even wrong doings for their own benefit.

Progress should be our mantra. Not Caste Politics.

  21. ShridharaSwamy Says:

I teach at a local Engineering college; the caste politics is intense. HODs in our department so far have been FC; Every meeting they were made mince meat by castists; What is happening in India, Karnataka is mirrored here in our department. There was one SC HOD [ thru “divine” intervention]; meetings were mostly solemn and silent.

Power is definitely corrupting; The Problem is people want to get ahead without their own effort and merit. All feel they are entitled. Plus huge Egos .

With scarcity of Resources, it is going to be difficult for even productive and efficient people in Power to manage things. Tectonic changes ahead. I only hope God saves the good people.

  23. Peace Says:

Just when you wonder how can the masses be swayed senseless to vote to power the kind of baboobs we have in our elected offices, most comments from above, bya very literate cross section shows how easy it is for the politicians ! Kurigalu saar…

Sans Vinay & Harkol, the other commenters are acting like morons : one claiming Chaddi as a hero, the other bringing in a brahmin angle, yet another justifying BJP’s lust for money with that of congress’s ?

Have you gone off your mind people? Go round the state and you see a freshly raped look – battered, stunned and too numb to react to the shameless tamasha. Go see Bellary. Congress at the center is no good either and the Gowdas are nothing but something their name rhymes with in kannada. Swines they all are.

While I can understand the lament about the lack of alternatives, any moron who can stand behind these rotten behinds cutting across party lines, is nothing but a stinking brown nose.

  24. sdfg Says:

Churumuri has covered itself with shame for playing up the Santosh Hegde “report”andgoing all silent when the HC threw that report out exonerating BSY. If anything it is the Congress that is playing the caste game, because if the two largest communities in Karnataka, the Veerashaivas and Vokkaliga come together, it’s curtains for the Congress.

  26. the colonel Says:

where, what, who is indian culture?

  27. Rastrakoota Says:

    @benglor swamigale,
Yeddy faltered a bit? He will keep suking it up to delhi (if thats wat u call central leadership) as much he possibly can to retain the chair. Not sure from where you can conclude he is the absolute right man for the job! Shit happens and you got to be proud of it kinda statement!
So wat was the reason for udupi by election result? Don’t tell that it was becoz of ur man not given his due! That is BS of an answer.
Nothing is new in ur other statements.
Ur affiliations appears, are not toward any party, but inclined a particular caste alone. All castes need to be progressive in their outlook and will eventually be that way I hope.
You will anyways have to live & die in this malformed corrupt India no matter wat!
BJP is strongly castiest (all others are but not as strong) toward the upper castes and there probably is a reason for that.but why are u ranting abt a certain caste even if ur Man isn’t from it? Defies imagination. You got to be better than an asshole. I am sure you can be. Think abt it.

  28. harkol Says:

sdfg: HC did not exonerate BSY. What it said was there was a procedural error in Lokayukta report, where the accused wasn’t heard. HC Ruling stated Lokayukta is a ‘judicial’ body.

The case has gone before SC, where HC’s conclusions are challenged. The primary challenge is – even if BSY wasn’t heard, that’s precisely what his prosecution in court would’ve done. FIR that was launched was just the ‘begining’ of the investigation, not an end.

Most likely HC erred in its judgement in stating there can be ‘no investigation’ because it is equal to tarnishing the reputation! If that were so, then there should be no FIR filed against anyone, because it is tarnishing their reputation? It is not just yeddyurappa who has a reputation isn’t it??

I’ll be really surprised if SC allows HC order to stand. It’ll be a sad day because, then without evidence you aren’t supposed to file an FIR, without an FIR there won’t be an investigation, and without investigation how there will be evidence??

HC ruling thus will mean, some people are indeed above the law!

  29. concerned man Says:

All of you please try to look through what you see and try to come to [atleast] your own understanding. Those who allege that this is the most corrupt cgovernment might have been born after a certain Mr. Bangarappa was CM. Not trying to tell that some/less corruption would be ok, but just trying to put things in perspective.
Going to peopl with one leader and ruling with another is betraying people.

We should scrutinise all corruption counts, but we should also look at developmentakl efforts.

  30. bengloor Says:

    See this too.

Lokayukta submits report to President and quashed. Over. Delhi is safe and developing.

Here we give all powers to Lokayukta.
But governor is sent by Congress to hold it.

A gulte software engineer files complaint on a jujubee dneotification and whole govt topples and we waste time in discussing this!!
whole of karnataka comes to a standstill.

metro sees majestic. again the SWR of delhi will stop its work and that’s it bengloor comes to end.

The gay (now a law congress is fighting for Rahul Gandhi ) Hansraj Bhardwaj will sit and shag to his chairperson.
See how congress is not at all bothered about anything in karnataka. 40 years of rule in delhi what else take everything to delhi and then to supreme court sort it out there.
anyways people like santosh hegde who speak of anti corruption only for karnataka and forget delhi are loads present there.

See waste fellows like Dinesh Gundurao , Ambareesh cooling their ass of in bars while Chiranjeevi wins Tirupati and goes to Rajya sabha straight .

if you dont want to work atleast go and fart in delhi.
first of all none of these congress bastards know hindi so they wont go to delhi
but the same people want hindi signboards on metros the same people bring mysoor hindi prachar sabha the same people keep hindi boards in udupi sringeri. the same people make kids to learn a fourth language.

this instability expecting backstabbers should be mercilessly beaten up.

  31. sunil Says:

Yeddy is sinking. Ligayats are not listening to him. In the recent Udupi-chickmagalore election, BJP got lead in the chickmagalore assembly consituency where there are lot of lingayats.

Remind you that yeddy had secretly sent message to lingayats to vote for congress. But it has not happened. Lingayats dont listen to yeddy. Even we feel yeddys lust for power is too much. May be the tast of corrupt money has made him to fight back for the chair.

I think congress in the only alternative who can give stable governament. To run any political party or an organization, you need a single Leader. Multiple leaders (like in BJP) will make things works. You need one supreme command to which all will listen and fall in line.

I am not backing congress, but as a citizen i want a stable governament. I feel congress in teh only party who can give that.

  32. DailyBread Says:

Good going sir, absolutely original contrarian comments.

    >i want a stable governament. I feel congress in teh only party who can give that.

Correct Sir, we have one of the stablest govt in Andhra Pradesh or for that matter in Maharashtra. By the time you get to read this message, Vilasrao Deshmukh who does not have any lust for power would be back as Chief Minister of Maharashtra.

  33. bengloor Says:

“You will anyways have to live & die in this malformed corrupt India no matter wat!”

Ofcourse . But i need a peaceful death. i cannot or probably should not die with this kind of suffering on people of state where they are muted and almost on verge of extinction.

  34. NRI Says:

Regional party ? what the heck? Didn’t we learn from ‘appa-maga’ party ? usually the regional parties don’t grow beyond ‘appa-maga’ model !! What we need is a stable govt. People are fed up with BJP’s non-stop internal struggle for power. There is a limit for everything. It was Reddy gang in the past. Now, it is Yeddy trying to pull the same one on Gowda!! Truly disgusting characters!!

I have a feeling that the ‘Appa-Maga’ team will exploit the situation and win enough seats to be the ‘decider’ in the next state govt. The cult of congress might improve its share substantially due to the utter failure of state BJP. Get ready for Congress-JD(S) coalition and the looting that follows!!

  36. Pulikeshi the Last Says:

Kudos to the Archer for his style and substance. I don’t agree with his assumption that all is right with the BJP, but what he says about the previous administrations is right on the money. Write more and continue to write in Kannada now that Cmuri has given up its madivanthike about publishing only in English.

Kudos to Churumuri, too. It requires strength and courage to take a hit. I have a feeling that nothing was edited out of the Archer’s missive.

  37. dharmasthalamanjunatha Says:

Lingayats are the biggest community having very rich history and is part and parcel of Kannada culture from hundreds of years. They are everywhere across all parts of karnataka and with very less population in coastal region.
And this community shows extreme unity while voting. Last time they stood united behind yeddyurappa and brought him to power. Same way, they voted for congress in recently help udupi bi-election in a revenge for BJP’s ill treatment towards BSY.
Vokkaligas are 2nd biggest community manily concentrated in southern part of the state of Karnataka. Historically vokkaligas supports Devegowda which ever party he is into., with very few exceptions like supporting S.M.Krishna for only once.

Now ,when we see the caste calculations, BSY is the best bet for BJP. Sadananda gowda cannot defect vokkaliga voters away from Devegowda. Moreover, sadananda gowda doesn’t possess the giant political strength, fan following which BSY holds. Adding to this he got clean chit from high court on lokayuktha corruption accusation. All other pending cases are like signal jump penalties compared to 2G and mining scams and most of them are filed by JDS and congress sympathisers just to get favours from oppostion high commonds. Sadanada gowda failed to win Udupi and bellary bi-elections. Gowda lacks that charm, leadership skills and ferocity which BSY possess.

Till date, BSY maintains good relations with backward class communities and minorities.
He is very mild and broad minded hindu leader like Vajpayee contrary to narrow minded Advani and MM joshi.

Politics is not only about talking and preaching ideals, But it is always about winning elections and it requires a commonder like BSY to win elections.

  38. asha Says:

Just for your information, Billu-Vidya-Paarangatha is a pun for a person who misappapriates funds…this was first time used for the Late Santosh Kumar Gulwadi, editor of Taranga, when he was sacked for misappropriating funds at Taranga…Bill here refers to the english bill not the kannada one :)

  39. free will Says:

Lingyat people have grown exponentially stronger by influencing the society with money and muscle power. Karnataka, is perhaps the most corrupt state in india because these people do nepotism at a very high level and they occupy important posts in the government. Remember, one thing, such levels of power can corrupt anyone and lingyat leader yeddy has done the same, lalu yadav also got elected on the basis of caste and we all know what he did to the knowledge center of india (formerly called). This is a warning sign, today karnataka is the most corrupt state, tomorrow it will lose all civic sense. Already, we are seeing signs of this happening in northern districts where other castes/religions are being continuously assaulted by using state machinery.

  40. free will Says:

The people of Bangalore need to feel proud for having achieved great progress but almost all the other parts of the state are more or less the same as UP. The electorate of karnataka has always voted based on caste and this is perhaps more evident in the victory of yeddy. On the surface it is OK but it signifies a greater problem, one that of caste fanaticism. Karnataka will go down if the same continues. Even the urbanites in karnataka vote on the basis of caste! It is very much on the path of bihar.
