POLL: Has RSS shown Narendra Modi his place?

The RSS ideologue M.G. Vaidya has kicked off a big storm in the BJP teacup ahead of the Gujarat elections, by alleging that Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi was behind the recent campaign of vilification against the party president Nitin Gadkari, which culminated in a demand for Gadkari’s removal from the post by the renowned lawyer and BJP member of Parliament, Ram Jethmalani, and his lawyer-son Mahesh Jethmalani.

On his blog, Vaidya writes:

“Needle of suspicion in the campaign against BJP president Nitin Gadkari points to Gujarat BJP and Chief Minister Narendra Modi. Ram Jethmalani had in one breath said he is seeking the resignation of Gadkari and that he also wanted to see Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister in 2014.”

In many ways, what Vaidya says is not particularly new; Modi’s alleged involvement (and of his lackeys) in hurling allegations at Gadkari over his business dealings through the media has been gossip in the political corridors and television studios in Delhi for days now. After all, Jethmalani senior (who represents the former minister of state for home, Amit Shah, in the encounter cases) was given a Rajya Sabha seat at the behest of Modi.

But the backroom buzz has been given a certificate of authenticity with Vaidya putting it on record and then reiterating it, although the BJP has been at pains to reject the insinuation. However, since nothing in the RSS happens without a pattern, Vaidya going public with his allegation at this juncture poses several questions:

Is the RSS conveying its displeasure of Modi’s tactics and his overweening ambition to occupy the national stage? Was Gadkari retained as BJP chief last week (after another RSS ideologue S. Gurumurthy gave a clean chit) largely to show Modi his place? Did Modi mount a subversive attack on Gadkari in the full knowledge that if Gadkari finished his first term or got a second term (as the party’s consitution now allows), he could prove a hurdle in his path given the backing he enjoys from the RSS?

More importantly, does Modi’s ascension look less assured even if he wins a third term, as he is slated to? And, if he is rebuffed in his prime ministerial ambitions should NDA get a majority, could Modi (as B.S. Yediyurappa aide and the president of his soon-to-be-formed party, Dhananjay Kumar, has said on TV) break away and form his own party as Yediyurappa is threatening to do?

And, does the recent turn of events indicate the kind of polarising figure Narendra Modi will be if he graduates to Delhi?

Advani(FC)/Gadkari(FC)/Jaitley(FC)/Joshi(FC)/Sushma(FC)/Keshubhai(FC) will never let Modi(BC) become Prime Minister.
They’ll collude with CBI/Congress to malign Modi in the pretext of Godhra repercussions and collateral damage.

  2. bhagawat (@mbhagawat) Says:

This is pre-meditated plan to stop narendra modi from getting a majority in Gujarat and abstain all BJP workers from his electioneering.

Whats the need for MGVaidya to write a blog in his blogpost now and that too against Narendra Modi.It is highly damaging to BJP and looks like a self goal.

  3. Bk chowla Says:

RSS itself has disowned comments of Vaidya

  4. Deepak Says:

As usual when there is anything negative about Modi or BJP, you are prompt in making polls and highlighting. But you never say anything about the Italians who have been heckled left and right by the people of Amethi and Bareilly. Before you worry about prospects of Modi and Yeddy, you need to seriously worry about mother and son, both of whom are in the danger of losing their LS seats!!

  5. chidu22 Says:

Does it matter who is exposing whom for what. They are all same shit different names.

  6. Samartha Rao Says:

A very to-the-fact analysis of the role of RSS in controlling the BJP by Sri Dinesh Amin Mattu of Praja Vani.

A biased, but not entirely false, description of the orientation of the RSS against the non-Brahmin leaders in BJP.

There should be no doubt about the bias against the leaders from non-Brahmin castes by the RSS. They did not spare even Advani (for Vajpayee), leave alone state-level leaders like BSY, Kalyan Singh, and Uma Bharati. But Modi proved to be too hot to handle, when they tried to challenge him by bringing Sanjay Joshi again into Gujarat.

Churumuri, please try to give some credit to Modi; despite the whole Indian media being against him, he is not intimidated. It takes a man of some character to be so daring to do it. Just look at Rahul. With all the comforts, pampering and spoon-feeding, he is still afraid of the public and media both.

  7. Nastika Says:

    The Anti-Simple is back.
    > But you never say anything about the Italians
Whats is there to say about SG? That she is Italian. Everybody & their tail knows that. Maybe you can add a line in your morning suprabhatha to remind yourself that SG came from Italy. Or you can go Memento or Ghajini style to remind yourself :)

    > you need to seriously worry about mother and son
Please add a word in your Sandyavandane to that with your prayer they both will retain their seats and you can be relieved of your worry.

  8. Harkol Says:

Bottom line: narendra modi will show,RSS it’s place, just as vajpayee did many times.

  9. Deepak Says:

@Nastika a.k.a Loyalist of first family
The Italians are looting the country and churumuri and the paid media don’t bother. They run 19 part exposes on Gadkari but don’t bother to prove Vadra and Rahul. That shows the hypocrisy of the press which has been purchased by your party!!

And we will of course meet again on this forum as and when the LS elections are held and let me assure you that mother and son will either be defeated or will have to scrape through after begging Mulayam for help.

And unlike you and your party I am not enslaved by anyone to remember them in my prayers :)

  10. Nastika Says:

Let me give you a motto – Either you are with me or you are Congress.

  11. Anand Hosmani Says:

Every body should note that RSS is supporting Gadkari just becoz he is a MARATHI BRAHMIN. RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat is also a marathi brahmin fro the same Nagpur. Vaidya is also a marathi brahmin!!!
RSS in the name of service is just promoting marathi brahminism. When a shudra like Yeddyurappa, bangaru laxman does corruption its not ok for BJP. But if MARATHI BRAHMIN like Gadkari does corruption, they will support him!!
What a great hindutva RSS is promoting.
